Meat Recall Expanded: Nearly 12 Million Pounds of Products from Walmart, Target, Kroger & More Now Listed
Here are the details on the latest meat recall:
On October 9th, the Food and Drug Administration has announced the recall of approximately 10 million pounds of prepackaged meat and poultry distributed by BrucePac due to listeria contamination. Now, on October 15th, they have expanded that recall, adding an additional nearly 2 million pounds of recalled products to the list.
Unfortunately, it was also noted that some of the recalled products were distributed to schools. No list of affected schools has been shared at this time, but will be posted to the FSIS website when available.
The affected products were produced between June 19th and October 14th, and distributed to several grocery stores, such as Trader Joe’s, Kroger, Walmart, Target, ALDI and more. The meat was widely used in premade dishes packaged and sold at these stores, as well as frozen meals, like Michelina’s, Atkins, and more.
So far, there have been no reported cases of illness linked to the outbreak.
Consumers are urged not to serve or use these products – instead, they should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

- Trader Joe’s Tarragon Chicken Salad Wrap: best by date between 9/9/24 and 10/14/24
- Trader Joe’s Turkey Club Wrap: best by date between 9/9/24 and 10/14/24
- Fresh Express Gourmet Cafe Salads Chicken Caesar (6.3oz): use by date prior to 10/23/24
