There’s something pretty magical about the wonder blowing bubbles can bring. Kids love them, parents love them, and it’s super simple to make your own bubble solution.

This week’s Happy Friday submission onlinees from Sherris who decided not to let a container of spilled bubbles spoil her daughter’s summer fun.

spilled bubble solution on patio

My daughter LOVES to play with bubbles. “Bubble” was one of her first words, she just loves them. As you all know, bubbles don’t last long when a toddler is playing with them. It’s only a matter of minutes until the whole bottle gets spilled.

The other day my daughter spilled all her bubbles and wanted more, so my husband said, “just make some”. Oh ya, why had I not thought of that sooner!?

So I took the empty bottle and (slowly) filled it with water and added about 2 teaspoons of dish soap —Ta-da… bubbles! I was so impressed. Such easy and super cheap summer fun for my daughter!

I used 2 teaspoons dish soap per 1/2 cup of water and filled an empty bubble solution bottle I had on hand.

I thought I’d pass on the tip to all you other parents with kids who constantly spill their bubbles.

  3. Judy

Oooooohhhhh, the little blondie bean. She is so stinkin adorable. Im not a mom yet but I have made some pretty junky last min bubble alternatives when in a bind…ex. my sister needing a last minute sitter in my house where there is 0 kid stuff. Lol. Ill keep this in mind so my nephews can have fun at my house. Great idea 👍

Just sayin…they did an experiment on Sesame Street where they made a better bubble solution by adding some corn syrup to it.
