Extra tips for how to make meatball subs using just 5 ingredients:
- Be sure to warm your frozen meatballs first! The Great Value ones can be warmed up directly in the microwave in no time at all!
- If you have a little extra time to spare, consider melting the provolone layer first, before you add the meatballs. Just pop the rolls with provolone slices in the oven for 5 minutes to get the melty process started.
- Obsessed with Rao’s sauce like I am? 😋 Although I could probably eat spoonfuls of Rao’s sauce by itself, $7 for a jar is a little pricey. My recipe-wiz sidekick, Lina, and I agree that the Great Value marinara sauce is a tasty swap – and for organic, you can’t beat that price!
I love this easy meatball sub recipe & my family does too!
The best part about these meatball subs is that they are kid-friendly and perfect for my family of 5 because they bake all at once! They could be great for a crowd or party, too, if you have two casserole dishes. What a great hack!
