A healthier homemade snack that tastes like snickers and uses bananas!
Ingredients
- bananas
- caramel sauce
- peanut butter
- chocolate chips (melted)
- coconut oil
- peanuts
Directions
1
Peel and slice bananas in half horizontally, then vertically.
2
Spread peanut butter over banana slices.
3
Drizzle caramel sauce over peanut butter layer.
4
While the caramel is still sticky, crush peanuts and sprinkle over caramel sauce.
5
Prepare the chocolate drizzle by adding 2 teaspoons of coconut oil to 1/2c. of chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Warm for 15 seconds or until smooth, stirring in between. Once fully melted, drizzle generously over bananas!
6
Optional: sprinkle another layer of peanuts on top. Otherwise, freeze for two hours or overnight. Then, snack happy!
Extra tips for making these banana frozen treats:
1. It’s all about the double layer! If you love a good crunch, don’t skip the peanuts on top of the caramel and chocolate layers.
2. Don’t forget the coconut oil! This is the secret to a smooth (not lumpy) chocolate layer.
3. I highly reonlinemend using parchment paper so the chocolate doesn’t harden to the cookie sheet.
4. Not a fan of mushy bananas? Neither am I! Be sure to eat these tasty treats straight out of the freezer or within 5-10 minutes after setting them out.
This frozen banana snack was a WIN for Stetson, too!
Stetson said he would definitely reonlinemend this treat as a great minimal-effort, no-mess snack. Better yet, you don’t even have to warm up the oven – all the more reason to add these into your spring and summer rotation. I could see these being a great after-school snack for the kiddos too!
