Walmart Has Recalled Broccoli in 20 States – Here’s What We Know!
Have you heard of the Walmart Broccoli Listeria recall? Here’s what to know…
Attention, shoppers! If you’ve purchased broccoli from Walmart, take a moment to check your freezer. The FDA has escalated the December 31st voluntary recall of Marketside Broccoli Florets (12oz bags) to a Class 1 recall, indicating a risk of serious health consequences or even death.
This recall is due to potential Listeria contamination, a bacteria that can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.
While the recalled bags are past their best-by date (December 10th) and should no longer be in stores, they may still be in your freezer if you stocked up for later use. If you have this product, do not eat it—discard it immediately!
What you need to know:
The 12oz bag of Marketside Broccoli Florets is the only recalled product. It was distributed to Walmart locations in 20 states, including:
- Alaska
- Arkansas

- Idaho
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kentucky

The recalled products have a UPC code of 6 81131 32884 5 (located on the back of the bag), a best-by date of December 10, 2024, and a lot code of BFFG327A6.
While no illnesses have been reported yet, the recall was issued as a precaution after routine testing detected contamination in several samples.
What is Listeria?
Listeria can cause symptoms like fever, nausea, muscle aches, and even more severe onlineplications in high-risk individuals. If you experience any unusual symptoms after consuming this product, contact your healthcare provider.
