Here’s what you need to know about the Verizon Class Action Lawsuit…

In January 2024, we reported that Verizon customers were receiving notifications regarding a Class Action Lawsuit against Verizon. It stemmed from onlineplaints that Verizon was charging an “administration charge” without properly disclosing the fees in their advertised monthly plan prices.

Verizon denied any wrongdoing, but still agreed to settle the case, and had stated that claims made by mid-April 2024 would receive at least $15 per person, though final payments may vary.

Now payments are starting to hit the accounts of those who filed a claim, and many were disappointed to see the payments were much smaller. Two Hip Sidekicks who are Verizon customers each received between $8 – $9, about half of the original estimate. 😕

    I did receive something about getting a Venmo deposit about the Verizon class action….. It wanted me to click on something to accept the deposit. I wasn’t sure if that was a scam or not, I haven’t clicked on it yet.

    I got $14.81. I almost reported it as a scam, too. It’s not a ton, but it’s sounds like more than most received. Hopefully others are on the higher end too.

    I got an email saying my payment was $14.81. At first I thought it was a scam but after reading this it looks legit. I wasn’t able to get the payment via my Venmo. I think they just make it hard for you to claim the money in hopes you’ll give up.

    Got $14.81. It is a credit/debit card and they can be a pain to use all of the balance in a store. So I purchased an Amazon card online for $14.81 and will use it there.

      Hey Klp! Here’s what I found on the original settlement details for payment –
      Settlement payments will be issued to valid claimants after the settlement is approved and beonlinees final, by check or electronic payment.

      For any settlement payment checks that are uncashed or deemed undeliverable by the Settlement Administrator, those amounts will be treated as unclaimed property of the corresponding Settlement Class Member, subject to applicable state unclaimed property procedures (the additional administrative costs of such unclaimed property process will be deducted from the unclaimed property amounts on a pro rata basis).

    I just got an alert that i got a zelle payment from verizon for $14.81 i dont remeber requesting zelle but i did not have to claim it they sent it straight to my bank
