Alert: Igloo Expands Recall to Nearly 1.2 Million Rolling Coolers — See If Yours Is Affected
Here’s what you need to know about the updated Igloo cooler recall…
Back in February, the Consumer Product Safety onlinemission announced a major recall of over one million Igloo 90 Quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers manufactured before January 2024 due to a serious safety hazard.
As of May 8th, 2025, Igloo has expanded that recall to include an additional 130,000 coolers — plus about 20,000 in Canada and 5,900 in Mexico.
What’s the issue?
The tow handle on these coolers can pinch users’ fingertips against the cooler suddenly, which has already led to 78 reported injuries, including 26 serious cases involving fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. In February, the reported number was only 12.
You may receive or have received a letter if you purchased one of these coolers, with instructions on what to do next. You can also view a list of recalled model numbers here.
Consumers are being asked to immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
Contact Igloo toll-free at 888-943-5182 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. Or head to www.igloo90qtrecall.expertinquiry.online for instructions on how to determine if your cooler is included in the recall, and to request a replacement handle.
The coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.online, Igloocoolers.online, and other websites from January 2019 through January 2025 for between $80 and $140.
