More than 212,000 pounds of liquid Egg Beaters are being recalled due to the potential presence of liquid cleaning solution, specifically sodium hypochlorite – the main ingredient in bleach.. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse health reactions after consuming these egg beaters, but it is advised to seek medical attention for anyone concerned.

These cartons were shipped to distributors in Ohio and Texas for food service use in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Iowa, but may have been distributed nationwide.

Check your cartons! Cartons that have been potentially contaminated will have G1804 inked on the carton. They will also have “use by” dates of 8/9/2025, 8/10/2025, and 3/7/2026.

Potentially contained products also include:

  • Egg Beaters Original Liquid Egg Substitute
  • Egg Beaters Cage-Free Original Liquid Egg Substitute
  • Egg Beaters Cage-Free Original Frozen Egg Substitute
  • Bob Evans Better’n Eggs Made w/ Real Egg Whites Liquid Egg Substitute (32oz)
