How To Clean Uggs or Suede Lookalikes!
Here’s a list of easy tips and tricks on how to clean Uggs so they’ll stay looking great.
Uggs are super cute, but how are we supposed to clean them?
If you take good care of your suede Uggs they can last you for many years! Wearing them in snow and mud can get a little gunked up quickly. Taking the time to deep clean your Uggs at least twice a year will help their longevity and save money in the long run.
I have a pair of Ugg-inspired Dearfoam boots with a couple of stains, and I cleaned them using distilled white vinegar! Thanks to these helpful tips, my favorite cozy boots are looking great again.
Tip: Ugg offers a cleaning kit for $34.99, which includes a brush, cleaner & conditioner, scuff eraser, and protector. You can also buy the cleaner & conditioner separately for $14.95.
How to clean Ugg boots without a kit:
- Use a 50/50 mix of water and distilled white vinegar with a microfiber cloth.
- A suede eraser can help with spot-cleaning—just rub it on the area and brush off.
- You can also use a suede cleaner; spray it on and wipe it with a microfiber cloth.
- After cleaning, protecting your shoes with Scotchguard is the last step. Water will repel right off!
Note: Excessive water and harsh soaps or detergents are not reonlinemended for cleaning Uggs or suede.
Here’s what I did to give mine a refresh.
My suede Dearfoam boots had a stain on the top. Using the solution of half water and half vinegar, the stain came out! I am so pleased with how the stain came out using vinegar! To deodorize, I used a sprinkle of baking soda on the inside fur overnight. Finally, I sprayed them with Scotchguard to protect my suede booths further from water and stains!
On my daughter’s Uggs and on a pair of slippers I used some suede cleaner and got similar results.
