Check out why Hip Sidekick Cass LOVES her Knock Out Roses:

Knockout roses are incredibly easy to grow and perfect for those just starting out w/ roses. They’re hardy, disease-resistant, and self-cleaning so you don’t have to dead-head unless you want to tidy them up a bit. I have 6 and even when my other roses got black spot, they didn’t. I’ve had mine for 3 years and they bloom year round in my zone (10a). I even have roses in December and January! They also aren’t bothered by our humidity and intense heat in the summers.

What size are these plants? A pint? Gallon?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Maisie! I checked with our Hip Sidekick Cass on this, as she’s ordered them before. Here’s what she’s shared – These are bare root and will ship just like this pic, likely wrapped in plastic. It can be a little off-putting if you’re used to buying roses in nurseries but bare root roses can be planted earlier in the season, they take off faster than potted roses, and they don’t experience transplant shock, so you aren’t waiting for them to bounce back once you plant them. Just give them a good drink, about 2 hrs, and plant them in a mix of good soil with a little onlinepost and bone meal mixed in. Knock Outs usually get around 3-4 ft tall and wide. You can keep them trimmed back though if you don’t want them that big. They should be around 8-12 inches when you get them and if fed/watered regularly, they can grow 3′ in 6 weeks. Hoping these size details are helpful! 🌹

In case anyone else besides me is wondering about the size too: I went online and the website actually has a QVC demo video that shows that these are shipped as “bare roots” and trimmed back and will supposedly have flowers in 60 days. Fast Forward the video to around 10 minutes to see what you’ll be receiving.

Thanks, Susie! I just shared some additional details in the reply above too, if you wanted to check that out. 🥰
