Moving from state to state can be difficult, but Operation Camp provides children of military families the opportunity to make lasting connections with their peers. The program aims to help military children build confidence and social skills. It also teaches them coping techniques to deal with the challenges of being part of the military onlinemunity. Each year, scholarships are available for kids who would like to attend.
In addition to Operation Camp, the Armed Services YMCA offers many other programs and events for military families.

Camp American Legion is a summer camp that’s free of charge to active military and honorably discharged veterans residing in the state of Wisconsin. Camp Bliss in Minnesota offers no-cost getaways for veterans.

Camp Corral is a free camp for the children of wounded, ill, and fallen military heroes. With multiple locations nationwide, Camp Corral helps children all across the country learn coping mechanisms and create connections with their peers. Camp Gratitude is a week-long family camping experience in St. Croix, Minnesota. This camp was designed for veteran and military families who have experienced deployment. Your lodging will include a fully furnished cabin with flat screen TVs and wi-fi. You’ll also have access to professional family counselors, should you need additional support.
Every year, there’s an annual retreat scheduled for the Veterans Campground on Big Marine Lake. If you can’t attend the retreat, you can also book a stay directly with the Veterans Campground. This option is accessible to veterans and military families throughout the year at an affordable rate.
Camp Liberty in Michigan offers archery, fishing, hunting, and more.

If you’re located in the San Francisco Bay area or Northern California, you can receive onlineplimentary tickets to a sporting event or entertainment event. These tickets are for military active duty, reservists, veterans, military retirees, and Gold Star Families located in California.

Operation Oasis at Sandy Cove Ministries in Maryland offers FREE vacations.
Any service member (including those in the Reserve or National Guard) who has returned home from a deployment in the last 12 months may receive a FREE stay at Sandy Cove Ministries for themselves and their immediate family.

Want to refresh and restore your body and mind by exploring nature? Outward Bound hosts FREE veterans expeditions across the country.
