I own this Dyson works awesome .. powerful

    • Heather

Go for the 8, the 6 doesn’t work on area rugs

      • Michelle

I have the 6 and it works fine on my area rugs. If the rug is thick, just drop the speed down. Works like s charm. I’ve owned mine for 5 years. Best purchase ever.

        • Alicat

I have two of these Dyson (one on each floor). How do you drop the speed down? thx

          • Heather

Push the circle on the end of the motor that you see as you are holding the handle as if you were vacuuming

      • Sue

It worked on mine for 2 years. Anyone have any issues with the brush not turning. Mine quit. I need something for my stairs. I have been using a broom and it does not do a very good job. I have 18 stairs and a landing. So cordless is perfered. My new fancy upright dyson vacuum is awful the hose bends in half whenever I try to use it. onlineplete waste of money. My robot vacuum can’t keep up with my kids. I should run 3 at a time lol. The scooba mop robot is only good for my bathrooms. I was eyeing the crosswave for my kitchen floor. Does it really clean up dry and wet stuff? I have invested tons of money on floor cleaning tools. I still have not found the best arsenal for my floors. If anyone has suggestions for my stairs please share. Thank you.

        • Michelle

Sue, write to Dyson about it. They have amazing customer service & back their products even after the warranty is up.

        • Rochelle

You sound like me – I own an embarrassing number of vacuums (and a robot) 😂. Anyway, believe the hype – the CrossWave is awesome for hard floors; it vacuums and mops at the same time. I use it daily. There is some clean up at the end (empty the collection cup and rinse it, the filter, and the roller bar out), but it literally takes me 2 mins at the end to do now that I’ve got the hang of it. Watch some YouTube vids – it will convince you.

        • Retta

I would reonlinemend trying a new battery. I’ve had their first cordless vacuum for over 5 years now. The roller kept randomly stopping on ours and we couldn’t figure out why. (My husband is an engineer and likes to take things apart. Whatever little fixes he tried didn’t work to solve the problem.) We got a generic brand battery on amazon for 20-some dollars and it’s like it’s brand new again.

  2. Aim

I don’t prefer dyson with small kids. Every thing stuck in the vacuum. I have to take front roller part out and clean the debris other wise it wont work.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! Sorry to hear many items have been getting stuck in your Dyson 🙁 That does sound frustrating!

  3. Tammy

I have this and works well for car and small crumbs. Doesn’t work well on larger things like Cheerios, which ends up on ours floors everyday. 😳

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the honest onlinement Tammy! I too find that I am mostly vacuuming cereal! LOL!

    • Retta

You need a dog. You’ll never have a cheerio problem again, LOL!

  4. Bee0619

Someone is selling one of these brand new in the box on LetGo in my area for $100, I was going to buy it but now after hearing all of your reviews I think I’ll pass. I have two babies and lots of Cheerios 😂😂

    • Bee0619

How about dog hair, is it okay picking that up? I have three large breed dogs that shed like crazy.

      • Jenn

        I’m wondering the same thing?

        • MrsRodney

It’s fabulous for dog hair!! My kids are 6 and 8 so I’m past the cheerio stage but still have plenty of little items like beads that this picks up just fine. I use this and a roomba as my main vacuums for my hardwood + area rug main floor. It gets hair and extra debris out of rugs and corners/edges that the roomba doesn’t get. I love it for dirt and pet hair!

          • Bee0619

            Perfect, thank you!

        • Laurie

I have 2 Golden’s and have gone through 3 of these in 3 years! I finally gave up and purchased the shark rocket which is corded. I do miss the sheer convenience of a cordless vacuum but it does a great job and is durable! Dog 🐕 lover here;)

      • Michelle

I have a beagle, doodle & two cats. Oh and may I add dark, shiny hard wood floors in most of my home that show every piece of dust! This machine worked great for it. Has a great attachment for vacuuming the ouch too!

        • Bee0619

We have tile and hardwood, but boy does the pet hair stand out on the hardwood lol I am vacuuming my living/dining/kitchen at least 3 times a day with a heavy corded pet vac and it’s a chore!

  5. Angie

I wonder if target will price match?

  6. Meghna

Bed bath beyond ? Will it price match ?

  7. Meghna

Seems like no other store has the same model number.

  8. Angie

Target has them on clearance for $149

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Nice! Thanks, Angie!

  9. kimhavelka

so it it really lightweight then? I have a bad shoulder so got a roomba, but for hallways and rooms I can’t clear out under beds I still need to vacuum.
I recently bought the crosswave for my tiles. I think it is good. It it a pain washing to brush and water reservoir every time, and having to buy the bissell cleaner. But it does save you sweeping first, and if I do it on rug mode, it can clean the grout ok. It also helps if you pre spray dried on food from the kids first to soften it.
I think it would be great for wood and laminate, the grout is a pain.

  10. Kimberly

Thank you for this post! We purchased the Shark – better reviews. Also $100 off at Walmart.

    • Jennifer (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Kimberly! Which Shark is that? I’m not able to find it.

      • Claire

Shark ION rocket cordless ultra weight IR70

We debated between the two and went with the dyson. Thanks!

        • Jennifer (Hip2Save Sidekick)

          Thanks!

  11. April

I clean houses for a living. And I prefer the corded shark rocket BY FAR. I have used multiple Dyson and shark models. Shark rocket is lightweight and very powerful.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing what vacuums have worked best for you April! Right now I have a shark and have been pleased with it so far.

  12. Jaime

It annoys me that you have to hold down the button for it to stay on. It should have an on/off switch!!

  13. Doni65

I would love to have one of these

  14. AL

Just bought this. Thanks! No kids, a Maltipoo puppy (so non shedding). Hope we like it as much as everyone else seems too 🙂 thanks again!
