I realize they’re Pop Rocks, but they just look like aquarium gravel to me! LOL

    • meg

      Lol!

    • michelle

Add some Swedish Fish & you’re all set, LOL.

  2. DC

    Cute! Love it.

  3. MARGOT

Could I heat all the cider with 2 oz champagne, to melt the gelatin, and then add the rest of the champagne? Seema like a waste of good champagne to heat all of it?? Thanks for the help.

    • Katrina

I agree. You would cook all the alcohol and fizz out. I say heat the other liquid then add champagne and gelatin. Not sure but it should work.

      • Laurie

I would add the gelatin before the champagne. Let the mixture cool first before adding the alcohol.

    • Laurie

I make Jell-O shots all the time. Just heat the cider. Let it cool slightly and then add the champagne. This way the champagne keeps all the alcohol content.

      • Sue

Yes, because we NEED the alcohol. I think this is a neat idea we might try it. But I have never understood why people drink. it tasts nasty and is a bad habit. I guess I’m one in a million. Have a happy new year! drive safely everyone!

        • Nicole

You sound like fun Sue 🙄 … the point is that it wastes the expensive part of the recipe, for that you can substitute something else. Yes people like to drink hut just because someone drinks doesn’t make them an alcoholic.

        • AZ

Agreed. People get extremely defensive when you say that, though…maybe b/c some ppl rely on alcohol to be able to enjoy social occasions. I make this without the alcohol in it and everyone loves it- especially all of the kids and anyone that’s pregnant or just doesn’t drink.

          • R

No, I think people get defensive when you question why they drink alcohol and call it a bad habit…on a jello shot recipe of all things 😂

            • AZ

If someone merely disagreeing with your choices in a public discussion feels like a personal attack, then maybe you’re not all that secure in those choices to begin with. Just saying 🙂

      • R

Thanks for the tips on the order to add the ingredients. There’s not much point in spending the money on alcohol if you’re just going to heat it out. As if one is going to get into a drunken stupor from a 2oz Jell-O shot…

Great idea Laurie!! I’ve only made Jell-O shots one other time, and they didn’t turn out so well. I was gonna give them another go this New Years. I will try your suggestion!!

  4. Heather C

    ROFL- love it!!

  5. Katie

  7. julie

Does anyone know where to get those cute toothpicks?

    • Angi

I think they are just “pom poms” poked into a regular toothpick.

    • Kate

Check the Dollar Tree for the little “pom poms”

      • julie

        Thank you!

My favorite way to serve jello shots is in 1oz paper cups. No fighting to get all the jello out

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)
