Dollar Tree 4th of July Craft Mason Jar Votives – finished jars

Check the Dollar Tree for supplies first.

I already had Mason jars on hand, but Dollar Tree has jars if needed. The battery-operated candles and mini American flags can be found at Dollar Tree, too. Keep in mind that you can also use bigger flags and jars to make these on a larger scale if desired.

Dollar Tree doesn’t seem to carry the same selection of colors of sand as they did when I first made this DIY, so you can check Michaels for colored sand instead.

Hip tips for this 4th of July decor DIY:

  • If you can’t find colored sand at Dollar Tree and want more variety than Michael’s, be sure to check on Amazon or Joann.
  • Feel free to add or take away anything to make each design unique to your own taste.
  • Not only is this a great decor item, but it also makes the perfect party favor or gift.

Directions

1

Remove the flag from the wooden portion, and place it in the jar.

2

Pour a couple of inches of sand into the jar. If you want to use white rice from the pantry or sand from outside, that’s another option, too.

3

Place a battery-operated votive inside.

4

Close it up, and display it on a tabletop inside or use outdoors on your patio!

I noticed the center of the lids aren’t used. Is there a reason to not use them?

Oh great question! No reason! I just wanted to see the flag more and the “candle”. You can add the lid 👍
