If you are a Dollar Tree customer, you may have already started to see some higher price tags at the budget-friendly store. In thousands of Dollar Tree stores across the country, you’ll find $3, $4, and $5 frozen and refrigerated items as well as $3 and $5 merchandise like pet items, snacks and personal care items.
Thanks to the transcript of the recent Dollar Tree Q4 2023 Earning Call provided by The Motley Fool, we now know that know that the chain is focused on a multi-price expansion strategy and plans to offer over 300 items at price points ranging from $1.50 to $7. These items will span a variety of categories like food and snacks, beverages, pet care, personal care, and more.
However, the good news is that Dollar Tree’s CEO Rick Dreiling stated that most of the items sold will remain around $1.25. “But even as our multi-price assortment expands over time, the vast majority of the items sold in Dollar Tree stores will remain at our entry-level fixed price point.”
