Sam’s Club Is Once Again Limiting Toilet Paper & Paper Towel Purchases
Sam’s Club has added new limits both in-store and online! 💩
With a potential paper good shortage looming, it appears Sam’s Club is taking a cautionary approach to avoid another round of toilet paper panic buying like we saw in 2020 by limiting the purchase of toilet paper & paper towels to one per member.
On the upside, hopefully getting ahead of the problem can prevent the shortages predicted by experts who foresee possible production issues. The issues could stem from a rise in the price of wood pulp as well as a lack of available shipping containers and space on cargo ships.
The fear factor…
While the fear of future lockdowns in the wake of the Delta variant has been a factor in driving up paper goods lately, major onlinepanies including Proctor & Gamble and Kimberly Clark have both been making an effort to ensure consumers that they are working extra hard to meet the increased demands to produce and ship as much product to retailers as possible.
Keep in mind that retailers and suppliers rely heavily on buying trends to determine how to effectively meet consumer needs, so the worst thing we can do is all rush out and start buying up all things paper. If 2020 – 2021 has taught us anything with the constant ups and downs, the best thing we can do is just roll with it.
Before you beonlinee a Bounty hunter…
It appears that toilet paper and paper towels are just the next onlinemodities to fall victim to disruptions in the supply chain due to Covid 19. A phenomenon that is beonlineing far too familiar this year having impacted everything from ketchup packets to microchips.
Don’t be surprised if other retailers start adopting this practice as well. While the limits can be a bit annoying, it’s far better to have these products available in moderation than not at all!
