It has to be connected to WiFi to determine your location. I heard Target will have wifi this christmas shopping season though so that should help!

I find hanging in the entrance like try suggest doesn’t work. Turn in the app. If there is free wifi connect to it. Then just walk round the store for a while and eventually the app realizes you are there. The only times this hasn’t worked for me is in Macy’s and when I’m in a mall. (It recognizes the mall instead of the individual store).

For the Shopkick thing, mine says you need to walk in 5 times, weird. I’m not even sure if I can do it though. I haven’t been able to use the app since the update a few weeks ago. I emailed support to see if I’ll lose my gift card and almost 2400 points if I have to reinstall the app but still haven’t heard anything.

Hi Meredith. You won’t lose your points if you uninstall the app, the points are linked to your account info, not the the actual app 🙂 HTH!

Mine says three times, but I can’t even figure out in the new app where to go to trigger the walk ins. It just gives me instructions when I click it. 1. Walk into store. 2. Open shopkick. 3. Get kicks! This does NOT work, I hate the new version. Wish I hadn’t downloaded it. 🙁 Was at target today and no luck!!!

I can scan though, that works fine.

Agreed. I find the new version much more difficult. I emailed shopkick and told them the new version was hard to use and they told me “no, actually its much more user friendly, thank you” and I was just kind of like…No, no it isn’t. lol

just fyi in our halloween clearance aisle there were halloween jet puffed marshmellows that were .54 so the coupon makes a better deal and our refrigerated cookies were only 1.25 here!!!

Man, wish I had time to run to Target. I guess I’ll settle for DG where the Jet-Puffs are featured for $1.25 this week so only $1 after coupon (plus $ toward $25 to use the $5 off coupon). I have had no luck with after holiday sales recently…it’s as if these stores have caught on to all of us who wait =) Haha.

Mine says walk in 2 times, but I am one of those people that stands outside the store and pushes the little walk in guy and waits…and nothing happens (except the instruction information onlinees up). I did, however, scan two items while I was at Walmart and it took those??? I haven’t been able to get this thing to work since I started a few weeks ago. I’m ready to give up! Exactly HOW do you know if it’s recorded your visit?

If its registered your visit a blue bubble will pop up and tell you how many shpkick points yuo earned. Then you click on it, it pops, and they’re recorded.

For anyone who is confused about walkins:
You don’t touch the walk in guy. At all.
Before entering a store, you open up the app. Don’t even click anything, just open it & make sure you have service. Then walk into the store. That should be it.
I never have any trouble getting my kicks for walking in. The new update has actually made it even easier.

When I went to to Target yesterday, the cashier said they now accepted only 2 of the same coupon (used to be 4). Can anyone confirm this policy change? I didn’t have time to stop at the courtesy desk. Thanks!

That’ll kick me in the behind if that’s the case. I have a handful of TQs expiring on 11/3 and haven’t had time to go this week =( Hoping my store is not changed. FYI – I have 2 stores in close proximity…one always was strict and only allowed 1 per customer/per day, the other 4. So maybe it’s just your store change.

I signed up for shopkick and downloaded the app through hip2save link… But it won’t give me any points and when I enter the tomato code…it says its not valid. It said to ask my referring friend for her link. Collin??

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong with the shopkick app when I try to get to the bonus board to scan items, the scan feature using my camera does not onlinee up. It did about 1 month ago and nothing since. It shows the scan item with the line through it (same as on the bonus board page). My shop kick is onlinepletely updated. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You don’t go to the bonus board to scan items, you have to do it from the store’s page. You can get to the store page from the map (click the blue banner across the bottom on the main page of the app). This will bring up your location and show you stores in the area. If you tap on the blue bubble containing the store where you want to go, then tap on the store name, you should see at the top of the page a box showing walk ins (if applicable) and a box showing a barcode (if there are scans). If you tap the barcode, it will bring up the item page for scans.

My Shopkick works great! Even if I forget to press it when I first walk in, I just walk back toward doors, checkout, jewelry (if near front) or guest services and it works. No need to walk in and out of doors. The only prob I had was my $2 g.c. didn’t scan at register so cashier manually entered it as store coupon. So I think it may still be on my app.

My cashier at target was a shopkick user too. She said the $2 thing is a giftcar d, so if they scan it as a coupon it does not work. Next time try to tell them is it a $2 giftcard and they hit some other button for it to work.

I have yet to see this deal so i’m wondering if i’m missing something…In the ad the Pro Fusion razors are on sale for 9.89 ea and when you buy 2 you get a $5 gc. In the coupons last weekend there was a $5 Target coupon and a $5 manuf coupon which means they are free with overage plus the gc! The ones in the ad are the power ones but I asked at customer service (haven’t done the deal yet) and they said it’s still a Pro Fusion razor so it will work!

ahhh, okay – My coupon says “buy one gillette cartridge or disposable razor, get $5 off one gillette fusion proglide razor. So I guess you have to buy the cartridge or a disposable to get the $5 off the proglide.
Hmmm…well then I still have a $4 manuf off a Fusion Proglide that I can stack with the $5 Target then which means they are only .89 cents.

I went to Target this morning and they already had all Halloweeen 70% off except bagged candy was all 50% off. They said they wanted to clear out as much as possible because the manager was wanting Xmas out pronto. Scored some really awesome deals! This was at the Heath, Oh store.

My Target had 70% off Halloween and 50% off candy. Also they had all the fall glade on clearance. I got glade maple pumpkin candles for .08 after I stacked the $1 glade with the $1 target coupon. I also got these movie theater buckets in the Halloween section that had 2 micro popcorn, box of skittles and 2 boxes of M&Ms for 70% off. I’m going to hold onto them and put some DVDs with them for xmas presents for my hubby and kids.

Just thought I would share for whoever this might help. A few weeks ago when I opened the shopkick app it gave me a TIP saying that once I walk in to try to find a speaker because that is how the app recognizes where you are and that you did in fact enter the store. Sometimes at Macy’s it takes a while but if it gives you a message that your phone cannot connect to wifi try it again and the second time it will say cannot connect but we’ve registered your walk in and your points will be awarded when wifi is available…this happened at Aerie for me. hope this helps someone!
