More Walmart

If you’re wondering what to make for dinner, open up the Walmart app and let it do all the legwork of meal planning and grocery shopping.

Planning meals, finding recipes, and then shopping for all the ingredients can be a chore. That’s where the Walmart recipe library has stepped in and made my life so much easier.

If you haven’t tried using the recipe feature on Walmart yet, you’re seriously missing out on one of the most convenient ways to plan meals and get groceries delivered straight to your door! I tried a skillet meal recently and am so impressed!

walmart recipes on app

The online recipe library is available to ALL customers, both on the website and through the Walmart app. It has a user-friendly interface with TONS of full recipes, and you can filter by almost any criteria to help find a recipe that meets your needs and budget: price per serving, time to make, kid-friendly, sheet pan meals, special occasion, and more.

But the best part is that you can then order all the groceries needed for that recipe with the click of a button – and get them delivered for free if you have a Walmart+ membership! It is seriously so simple and so helpful!

Plus, because you can then modify your cart to remove things you already have in your pantry, you’re not ending up with wasted ingredients – another money-saving tip. And even if you don’t need to order any ingredients, having a library of free recipes available really helps with weekly meal prep.

There are no hidden markups or fees, and someone else does all the shopping, so it saves time and money – what’s not to love?

I can confirm the Walmart recipes are easy and YUM!

Check out the One-Pan Lime Chicken and Cilantro rice meal I made for dinner! This was a total hit, and at just $5 a serving, it was affordable, too. The chicken turned out tender, and the cilantro lime rice is so tasty! What a great family-approved one pan meal, to add to the rotation.

And bonus, this is a good meal prep meal too! I personally feel like being prepared and organized with meal planning helps me stay on track with my nutrition goals, as well as saves money by not eating out.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Found a recipe I liked (in this case, One Pan Lime Chicken & Rice)
  2. Tapped “Add to Cart” to add just the needed ingredients
  3. Choose delivery or pickup
  4. Relaxed while my groceries came to me, then followed the easy (and yummy!) recipe

It’s really that simple.

Collin has tried Walmart recipes, too – here’s what she has to say:

I only share things I actually use and love — and my Walmart+ membership has genuinely made my life easier. I’ve been using their recipe hub to plan meals, and it’s been such a time-saver. I just pick a recipe, and with one click, all the ingredients go into my cart. Done.

This beef stir-fry? Made it the other night using one of their recipes — snow peas, bell peppers, onions, marinated steak… SO good. And the fact that I didn’t have to leave the house to get everything? Major win.

I also like that I can see the price per serving right in the app, so I know I’m staying on budget. It’s helped me cut down on impulse buys and those “what’s for dinner?” panic moments.

If you’ve tried any of the recipes from the Walmart recipe library, I’d love to hear which ones I should be adding to my own meal rotation!

Thank you for the heads up on this. Maybe I will find some new recipes.

I love this feature. I also use Walmart’s List feature to create my own list of ingredients for meals or dishes that I already like to make. I have one list I call “summer picnic” that has foods and supplies that we like to take on outings. I have another called “taco night” and you can guess what’s on that one. So convenient.

Thanks for sharing how you use the list feature, TS! Sounds super helpful to have those items already saved for all your favorite meals! 🥰
