This Reader Made Custom Wall Art from a Clearance Sign
In the DIY mood?
If you’re wanting a new piece of decor, why not transform something on clearance and turn it into the perfect piece for your home? This week’s Happy Friday reader Teresa did exactly this with the help of her daughter, and it suits her home perfectly!
Recently, I bought a sign from Hobby Lobby for about $3 at their 90% off clearance. I knew the sign won’t work at my house. However, I loved the look of it, so I decided to paint over it.
My daughter and I made it an art project over the weekend and created our own one-of-a-kind original abstract artwork. I’m so in love with it, and this will stay in our family for years to onlinee. Now, it’s way more personal than the original sign!
Teresa, what fun and a clever idea this was, and I can’t get over the results! It ended up being cheaper than buying your own blank canvas! Plus, stores like Hobby Lobby and other craft stores always have killer clearance deals, so it’s a great place to look.
Always try to go in person because you’ll likely get extra savings; the sign Teresa used is currently $10 online, but she scored it for $3 in stores!
