This Reader Created an Inexpensive Farmhouse Drink Station for Her Cousin’s Wedding
This barn-themed beverage station was both beautiful and budget-friendly!
Today’s Happy Friday submission onlinees from Hip2Save reader Kay, who designed a beautiful beverage station for her cousin’s barn house wedding.
Kay shopped the sales to buy what she couldn’t find, borrow, or repurpose. The end result was this frugal yet fabulous set-up where wedding guests could treat themselves to self-serve drinks. Here’s how she did it…
This was my first time creating a beverage station for a wedding. My cousin had a barn house wedding with dusky blue and grey as their colors. What I created for them was thrifty, fun, sentimental, and beautiful!
The main piece, to onlinemand attention, was the miniature barn. I initially bought it for a past family event where my 4 siblings pitched in, so the final cost was $16.22. To match the wedding colors, I painted the windows and doors with blue chalk paint that my mother-in-law had in storage.
The 3 beverage dispensers were borrowed from a friend. The hanging chalkboard labels on the dispensers were from Dollar Tree – a pack of 4 for $1.25. The wooden slabs were from trees in our yard that needed to be cut down. The slabs were cut for me as a courtesy by the tree onlinepany.
The mini fridge is from a post on H2S. It was on sale for $25 at Walmart. I stored lemon slices and mint leaves in it if guests wanted extra garnish.
The drinks themselves were not expensive. The punch contains sugar, bananas, pineapple juice, lemonade concentrate, OJ concentrate, and Sprite.
The Summer Infused Water had lemons, limes, cucumbers, and mint. The mint was picked from my aunt’s yard.
The Fall Infused Water had apples, pears, and cinnamon sticks. I already had the apples and cinnamon sticks at home.
So there you have it – a fun inexpensive way to set up a wedding beverage station. The punch is always a hit! Not only did the wedding guests enjoy drinking at the beverage station, but they also enjoyed looking at the setup, especially the miniature barn.
I was happy to provide something delicious and beautiful that was also very affordable!
Way to go, Kay! We are so impressed with how your one-of-a-kind beverage station turned out, and your cousin must have been absolutely thrilled with the end result! This was such a thoughtful thing to do, and surely a special part of the reception that the happy couple and their wedding guests will never forget!
