Grow Your Own Green Onions for FREE Just Like This Hip2Save Reader Did!
Grow your own food and save 💰!
Growing your own veggies has many health and financial benefits. For starters, you know exactly what chemicals are (or aren’t) going into your food, and you don’t have to spend money on fresh produce from the grocery store.
This week, we have a reader who is sharing how she was able to grow her own green onions and keep the supply onlineing at almost no cost!
Check out her story…
I have found a no-cost way to have a never-ending supply of green onions! The next time you purchase a bunch of green onions from the grocery store, save the last 1/2 ” of the onion along with the roots.
Plant it in either the ground in a garden or a medium-sized flower pot, just covering the roots but leaving the 1/2″ of onion above ground. In no time at all, they will send up more green shoots and you can start cutting a few off at a time to use in salads or other recipes!
I have had mine now for 3 years and they have survived our pretty cold winters here in North Texas.
Thank you, Karin, for this awesome tip that is sure to save our readers money😍. And, I love that you haven’t had to pay for green onions in THREE years! I can’t wait to try this out in my garden! 🙌
