Create a Deliciously Cute Ice Cream Dream Truck
Check out how Hip2Save reader Jenny created a cute ice cream truck for her daughter’s class party using a cardboard box and few other things she already had on hand! So cute!
“Teamwork makes the “Ice Cream Dream Truck” work! With all hands on deck, a lot of love went into making this for my daughter’s class party. She also plans on using it as an ice cream truck for her Barbies – so it’s dual purpose!
First, my boyfriend cut the shape of the truck out of a cardboard box. Next, my daughter painted it white. We added ribbon on the seams and used scrapbook paper to cover the bottom half of the truck, on the awning and for the windows. For the wheels, I used leftover cardboard ribbon spools and covered them with black. Then I used a marker to color the inside black. We made a mini banner to hang on the front.
The ice cream cone on the top is made from glitter cardstock rolled into the shape of a cone. I had a round papier-mâché ornament I used for the top and wrapped leftover scrap fabric around it. We took a picture of her holding a steering wheel and added it so it looks like she’s driving. I used the Cricut to cut out a few other details such as lights, bumper, and insides of wheels. For the back side of the truck, I made up the sign that says ‘All you need is peace, love, and ice cream.'”
So creative!
