When you join The North Face’s VIPeak loyalty program for FREE you’ll immediately receive 10% off your first order upon signing up. Not only that, but now you’ll be able to begin earning and redeeming Peak Points and you’ll be the first to hear about sales, special offers, and exclusive events.

You’ll earn 10 Peak Points for every $1 you spend online and in The North Face retail stores and you’ll earn 5 Peak Points for every $1 you spend at any The North Face outlets. You can also download their app for iOS so you can easily track your points – the higher the level you achieve (i.e. the more you spend) the greater the rewards to onlinee!

2. Grab discounted The North Face gift cards.

Raise, Card Cash, and Gift Card Granny are all great resources to buy some discounted gift cards and depending on what types of deals are available, you can either shop online or in the store. We’ve seen discounts range from 5-15% off The North Face gift cards, just by simply buying a gift card from them online.

Hip Tip: Don’t see a deal you’re looking for? No worries! You can set alerts on this page on Raise.online, so you’ll be the first to know when there are more discounted cards available!

3. Full-time students can also score 10% off.

Full-time students who are enrolled at an accredited college or university within the U.S. and are verified via the SheerID platform can obtain a sweet 10% off their order online or at The North Face retail stores. It’s not just a one time deal either – every 30 days students can apply for another 10% off by heading to their website.

Keep in mind, that this offer is not valid at outlet stores, 3rd party retailers, and cannot be used on clearance items or limited-edition items.

4. Shop during their end of season sales.

Patience, grasshopper. If you can hold off on some new gear until well after the holidays, The North Face hosts an awesome seasonal sale where you can score up to 30% off so many popular items! You can also keep this in mind when spring and summer are about to end since retailers are making way for new seasonal apparel.

You can save big during this sale on North Face jackets for the whole family:

Girls Triclimate Jacket$112 (regularly $160)
Men’s Parka Winter Jacket
$231 (regularly $330)
Women’s Arctic Parka – $210 (regularly $299)
Boys Triclimate Jacket – $119 (regularly $170)

5. Always score deals at their outlet stores.

If you’re lucky enough to live by a North Face outlet store then you can always score a great deal in-store. While some of these items may be last season, warehouse apparel or different from what you’d find online, they still have a wide selection of jackets, bookbags, workout gear, and so much more depending on your location.

6. Grab chic deals during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

If you’re shopping in July, keep an eye out for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You’ll be able to shop deals either in-store or online. Last year, I scored a new North Face jacket for over $100 off and earned Nordy cash to spend on my next shopping trip! Just know that this sale is quite popular so when great deals like $100 off a North Face coat happen, they go fast.

Hip Tip: If you’re a Nordy Cardmember, you’ll get to shop the sales an entire week before the rest of the world and you’ll also get $40 in Nordy Cash just for signing up and making a purchase!

7. Check out apparel at the REI garage sales.

REI Clearance rack

This member-only event happens all year long and varies by each location (it’s $20 for a lifetime co-op membership). These garage sales are a chance to score used and returned items at huge discounted prices! Just note that these items are sold “AS IS”, but that also means it’s a great opportunity to find trendy North Face apparel (among many other popular name brands).

If you don’t have an REI garage sale happening in your area soon, you can still head to the store and walk through their clearance section. A lot of times the racks are pretty stacked with gear and apparel for the entire family! As an example, I’ve seen some brand new men’s North Face jackets go for more than 50% off and kid’s shoes for more than 40% off!

8. Shop at other 3rd party stores for discounts.

While it can be a total hit or miss at discount stores, you can often save on brands like The North Face at Marshalls, Ross, T.J.Maxx, Sierra, or even online at Moosejaw.online. If you’re strategic when you shop, you can grab even lower deals at the end of each season when they’re making room for new stuff.

Macy’s also carries tons of North Face apparel for the whole family, sometimes it will already be discounted from the regular retail price, but you can also score even better deals during their Black Friday, Black Friday in July, Labor Day, and their huge semiannual sales.

If you’re already a fan of Dick’s Sporting Goods, you know that they have a pretty generous selection of The North Face apparel which you will find marked down right after the new year all the way through March as they begin to prep their retail stores for spring. You can even expect select styles to go up to as much as 50% off, although the selection will be fewer the higher it gets.

Hip Tip: Right now you can score $20 OFF $100 or more when you simply sign up for Dick’s text alerts. Read more on this link or text KICKOFF to 24001 to get your instant coupon!

9. Check your local consignment shops.

While it may seem like an obvious choice, consignment and thrift stores are places that many people may not think to look for some gently used apparel or gear for themselves. You’ll also have to keep an open mind, as every location may be different and you may not find the newest North Face apparel that’s in retail stores.

Often times, this can be an especially great place for parents to shop for their kids since they grow so fast and chances are that seasonal items they grow out of quickly will be in really great condition!

Have some apparel to donate? One of my local consignment shops pays me cash on the spot or gives me cash back if I’ll be spending that money in the store. Either way, selling used clothes is a great way to put money towards your next shopping trip.

Was totally going to reconlineend TJ Maxx if it wasn’t on here, but looks like it was! I bought a down Northface vest a couple weeks ago there for $18!

I must have been living under a rock. Kindly educate me why there is so much hype over this brand

It’s cozy, good quality, and relatively stylish when onlinepared with other outerwear brands. The North Face onlinees at a higher price point, though.

As a Minnesotan who has to deal with sub-zero temps every winter, I have outerwear from a lot of different brands and The North Face holds its own in that regard.

I knew it was a thing when all the middle school girls got brightly colored North Face jackets for Christmas. That was “North Face peak” about 4 or 5 years ago. They are okay jackets, but fashionwise, other expensive jackets are taking their place. You are paying for the brand name.

  3. Michelle

Used to be more of an “exclusive” brand but pretty mainstream these days. Usually good quality but always overpriced – you are paying for the name.

  4. CandyTiffany

Thank you for everyone’s thoughts on this.

  5. Jaime

Don’t forget their products do have a lifetime warranty and I have used this warranty a few times; broken zipper, mittens with holes after only a few wears, etc. They do stand behind their products and that makes the price worth it to me.

    • LauraK

Thank you for the reminder!! Also, thanks H2S!! Please please please repost your “helpful ” posts 2-4 times per year. We are all super busy and DO forget from time to time. I know you invest alot of time in constructing this type of posts. They are well worth reading and re-reading throughout the year!!😀

I bought a wide brim hat from North Face and after washing it by hand the brim just went limp. I was so frustrated, because I spent a bunch on it. I went to their warranty to read what it said and was really upset, because they do not really spell out what their warranty is. They tell you to send it in and we all know what that cost. So, I called them and they sent me a prepaid label to send it in and they said if they found the hat to be defective they would fix it or give me a credit. I did not have a receipt. I would encourage anyone to call if they have a problem with a North Face product, because after they saw it they treated me right and gave me a north face gift card.
