I had the most horrible experience with grocery delivery from Walmart. They scheduled me for 7pm and never delivered because the driver decided it was too late. Next day I call, they will be delivering in 45 mins. Never came. Called them again and all they had to say is we will give you $10 off your next purchase. No apologies. Order at your own risk. I was waiting for dinner items and they never came. Sterling VA store

    • CJ

Exact same experience with the Somerdale, NJ store! They did deliver the next day and gave me the $10 GC but you are at the mercy of their drivers calling out or not. That being said I had them 90 mins late once, no show once and probably 8 times on time.

    • Allison

I wish that Walmart would handle the deliveries themselves and not outsource it. It’s basically an Uber-type third-party service, and that bites Walmart in the butt because people get mad at them. If they’d hire Walmart employees to the deliveries then I’d bet their delivery ratings would go up.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! SO very sorry to hear you never received your order. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

    • crustycat

Same thing almost word for word happened to me

I love Instacart and have used them for years. I mainly shop with Aldi and have only noticed an increase of $0.10-0.50 per item. It really varies. They occasionally will send coupons for $10 or $15 off my next order which helps with the price increases onlinepared to shopping in store. It’s worth the extra cost having little kids at home. Anytime I’ve had an issue with my order, they’ve handled it by issuing a refund. Use my referral code for $10 off your first order and I’ll get $10 my next order. Thanks! https://inst.cr/t/VXRTS2RxNTlE

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That’s awesome to hear! Thanks so much for taking a moment to onlinement! Glad you’ve been pleased with Instacart!

  3. tpop

I’ve been pleased with Instacart for the most part. It does depend a bit on the shopper they assign you. Truly, I don’t think it saves me any time once I choose items, write in subs, and stick to my phone for any texts. But the delivery when I want it is the best. I just read that Instacart considers anything under 5 stars to be the same as 1 star and will fire shoppers if they get several. I’m thinking of trying Dumpling instead.
Stop and Shop used to be Peapod and they were great. Since they changed everything has gone downhill. Prices are up, sales are pathetic, and selection is limited. I’m not renewing my yearly pass.

  4. Jami Werkema

Unfortunately none of these deliver where I am. Someone would make a fortune if they came out our way!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Hoping you have a delivery service available near you soon, Jami!

  5. Whit C

I love Walmart delivery. It’s been amazing. I signed into my old Swagbucks account and they offer 5000 swagbucks when you purchase the $98 membership. I was just credited yesterday for it. That’s worth $50 worth of gift cards! Walmart included. And then when I purchased it, I used a credit card tied to my Dosh account and they were offering 10% back so I got $9.80 back from that. So $38ish bucks for Walmart Plus. Worth every penny.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh wow! Happy to hear how successful Walmart Delivery has been! Thanks for the feedback!

  6. Vest

I’d like to point out that Walmart accepts EBT cards as payment. I’m not sure if it’s every store, but it works for me. It’s been a tremendous help for me, who does the grocery shopping for my father.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for the helpful onlinement, Vest! Good to know!

  7. deeroddy

I deliver for Walmart. I can tell you from experience that’s it’s not always the drivers fault. I have had to wait 45 minutes for orders on several occasions. I have had problems on the receiving end also. I had a driver pick up my order then turn around and take it back to Walmart. Walmart then canceled my order.

  8. Rebecca

What a world we live in where food can be delivered to us, count your blessings!!

    • lmleaman

      😍🥰

  9. TraceyBR

We love Harris Teeter. There is a delivery fee and sometimes a pickup fee (ours is free because my husband is a senior.) They don’t outsource so the employees choose the products. They follow any written instructions exactly and call or text if something is not available. They are a little pricier than some other stores but the quality and customer service is worth it.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

This is great to hear, TraceyBR! So happy to know they take care of their customers! ❤️

  10. lmleaman

Hello friends ! I contract for both Instacart and Walmart and deliver for them both. I love performing this service and live in TN. I’m SO sorry some have had bad experiences from Walmart. I prefer to deliver for Walmart because most of the time they pay me better for my time. Instacart expects lots of work for little pay it seems and preference of jobs for certain shoppers. They make a killing off of shoppers I believe. Sometimes Walmart does too. Often times Walmart is the one causing the delays to the delivery driver getting the groceries to the customer. Drivers have to try and be flexible but it’s hard sometimes when you wait at a store for 45 min to make $20 for 2 orders driving 7 miles from the store. So over an hour for $20 plus the GAS and wear and tear of your car. And that is downright expensive at the moment plus we RISK customers pulling our tip (that we were counting on) for NO reason. We did our utmost best and still get slighted. Some will have poor experience and others will have great. A few tips and things to keep in mind. 1. Tip your driver 15 percent, or more for driving more than 5 miles from the store because thus makes 10 miles round trip. ALSO tip more for poor weather conditions. Extreme heat or rain. They pay their own gas and there are no perks for us. We pay what you pay. iC used to give 40 cents per customer for gas. Not enough IMO 2. Don’t pull your tip from the driver unless you feel they were 100% dishonest or personally caused damage (sometimes damage occurs when the Walmart employees load our car. If you didn’t receive something chances are the Walmart employee didn’t load it in our car. Call Walmart and they will replace / refund. They are very good about that. 3.Be kind and remember you may have a different shopper driver next time. Times are hard. Let’s be kind. 4. If you have an immediate / urgent need and can’t wait and there is a delay. Rather than get upset go to the store yourself and save someone an ear full on the phone. Things happen. I know you paid for service and had expectations that weren’t met but I believe the store and shopper and driver are trying to do their best.

  11. Cara

I have Shipt and love it. The shoppers are the greatest and so fast. I always tip the max on the app plus always have cash to give them a tip at the door. They always knock and bring the groceries right to the door and hand them to me. Shit has the most courteous employees. My only onlineplaint, which really doesn’t have to do with shipt, is Target Cashiers sometimes deny the sale of certain products for shipt employees. Instacart is horrible, throw your purchase on the patio, not even knocking. Was going to try Giant but wasn’t available. Looking for meal delivery options now.
