Did You Know That You Can Save 80% on Meds with an Amazon Prescription Card?
No more overpriced medication by using an Amazon PrimeRx prescription card and the Amazon Pharmacy!
With or without insurance, prescription medication can be extremely expensive. But did you about the Amazon Prime perk PrimeRx, the Amazon Prime prescription card? It’s more accessible than you’d think too, since this card is accepted by over 60,000 pharmacies.
And if you’re looking to shop from the onlinefort of home, Amazon Pharmacy is a game-changer!
For starters, what is the Amazon PrimeRx card?
The PrimeRx card (also referred to as the Amazon prescription card) is essentially a savings card for most Prime members to get the best rates on their prescriptions for those who don’t have or aren’t using insurance. It cannot be onlinebined with your typical insurance savings, but sometimes you’ll save up to 80% off!
It is automatically included for most Prime members and members of the Prime holder’s household at no additional cost by simply clicking the link and logging into your Amazon Prime account. Easy peasy! 🙌
Not an Amazon Prime member? Here’s how you can get a 30-day FREE trial, which will include access to your very own PrimeRx card! This is the best way for non-Prime members to see if the PrimeRx card is right for them.
Any savings offers are automatically applied at checkout when shopping at Amazon Pharmacy. Otherwise, you can present your digital PrimeRx card (or take a screenshot and print it if you prefer a physical copy) at other retail pharmacies in-person or by mail when filling a prescription.
If you’re unsure whether your pharmacy will accept your PrimeRx card, visit this site to view all participating pharmacies.
When I first started checking out this awesome prescription savings perk from Amazon, I decided to research Sumatriptan, a mild medication I use for migraines. I normally use Walgreens Pharmacy with GoodRx, so I onlinepared the prices to using Walgreens Pharmacy with PrimeRx.
- Walgreens, no insurance, with GoodRx card: $60.69
- Walgreens, no insurance, with PrimeRx card: $15.23
Yup — that’s a savings of $45.46 (almost 75%!) without my insurance, with the same dosage, at the same pharmacy location, but just switching to the PrimeRx card! 🤯
So in short, PrimeRx is similar to GoodRx, but can save you even more!
At GoodRx, you onlinepare prices at different pharmacies, get free coupons, and show your pharmacy. When I did a search to find Sumatriptan for the cheapest price possible, I checked both GoodRx and PrimeRx only to find that Amazon was able to find the cheapest price I’ve ever seen!
Note: Amazon prescription cards are not insurance cards but are available for most Prime members and/or another adult in the same Prime household to use and will be active for the duration of your prime membership. Visit this site to see if you’re eligible.
Sometimes this card will even save you more than your actual insurance, which is the main reason I’m making the switch! My Hip Sidekick Angela uses this card, and she had nothing but great things to say about it.
“After paying a fortune using my insurance at CVS Pharmacy, I started doing more research. I have now been using the Amazon Rx savings card to save BIG on some of my prescriptions! Like GoodRx, I just gave them the number from the PrimeRx Amazon prescription card and they took care of the rest. I always shop around to find the best deals on my medications and this really helps.
The prices for many medications are even better than what you pay with insurance. Almost all of my medications are insanely cheaper with PrimeRx, and now I’m sad I didn’t research this earlier.” – Angela
But wait, there’s more!
You can also score low-cost prescriptions over at Amazon Pharmacy, the retailer’s virtual pharmacy counter.
I noticed shockingly low prices on prescriptions direct from Amazon Pharmacy as well, which deliver right to your door. I never tried this method because I prefer getting my medication immediately after they’re prescribed, but they have the same migraine medication I mentioned above for less than $3; I seriously am SHOCKED!
If you’re 18 years or older and don’t need your medication urgently quickly, this could be a great fit for you too! They allow you to set up a recurring schedule for delivery and offer 30-day, 90-day, and 6-month supplies, which reflect the quantity of your medication and how often you take it.
You have the option pay for your medications through your insurance (which could cover your prescription in full) or pay a low price with savings through Amazon Prime.
I’m really only scratching the surface here on all the potential savings, so for more information as it pertains to your eligibility and specific prescriptions, check out the Amazon Pharmacy website here.
Even if you don’t use Amazon Pharmacy, you don’t want to miss this easy opportunity to save!
I know that uprooting your regular pharmacy and medication pick-up routine can feel daunting, but it’s really SO simple to implement the PrimeRx card into your existing regime, which is why I reonlinemend everyone start there if you want to save on your medications!
Simply show the card on your cell phone when picking up your next prescription, and enjoy those savings while staying healthy. 🤩 I know I will!
