I reonlinemend that you print a copy of this policy and bring it with you while you shop. If any issues arise, this Coupon Policy should definitely help clear things up!

Earning Walgreens Cash
myWalgreens Rewards Members will earn Walgreens Cash with the purchase of specified products and/or services during specified promotional periods. Online orders delivered to your home will earn Walgreens Cash as though they were purchased in-store.
There is no limit to how many Walgreens Cash rewards you can earn. The maximum amount of Walgreens Cash rewards that can be redeemed in a single transaction is $50 Walgreens Cash rewards, with a $100 Walgreens Cash rewards redemption limit per day.
There are two types of Walgreens Cash reward promotions: quantity where you have to purchase the number of items specified (example: Buy 2 Crest Items, get $4) and threshold where you have to purchase the minimum dollar amount after select discounts are applied (i.e. Walgreens coupons and promo codes) (example: Buy $8 Covergirl items, get $2). Be sure to pay close attention to the quantity or threshold amounts specified in the promotion.
When returning items paid for with Walgreens Cash rewards, you will be refunded in the form of store credit. Walgreens Cash cannot be redeemed to purchase alcohol, dairy, tobacco, prepaid cards, clinic services, prescriptions, pharmacy items or services, contact lenses, and photo orders not picked up in-store.
NOTE: In certain situations when shopping online, Walgreens Cash will only be earned if your order is shipped to your home. Even if Walgreens Cash is listed on the product page, that is not a guarantee that you will earn it with store pickup. The conditions for earning Walgreens Cash will be mentioned in our posts, but you can also check out this Promotions page each week if you have any questions.
How to redeem your Walgreens Cash
Use your Walgreens Cash rewards by providing your phone number or the contactless checkout bar code associated with your account during your purchase. Just make sure your email address has been added to your myWalgreens account.
Walgreens Cash Redemptions can be made in the amounts of $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10, $20, or $50 – both in-store and online.
When you spend your Walgreens Cash rewards, the savings are deducted from the total price of your purchase. Walgreens Cash rewards can be used in addition to Walgreens or other manufacturer discounts or promotions unless otherwise stated in the promotional offer. Walgreens Cash rewards are applied to eligible purchases after tax and after all discounts, percent-off and manufacturer coupons are applied.
Note that being able to earn and redeem your Walgreens Cash may depend on the promotion. For a quantity-purchase promotion, such as “Buy #, Get $ Walgreens Cash,” you can redeem and earn Walgreens Cash in the same transaction. On a threshold-purchase promotion, such as “Spend $, Get $ Walgreens Cash,” you cannot redeem and still earn Walgreens cash in the same transaction.
Walgreens Cash Expiration
Walgreens Cash expires 12 months after they are originally earned. If you have not used your Walgreens Cash rewards in a transaction for six consecutive calendar months, your membership will be deemed inactive and all accumulated Walgreens Cash rewards will be forfeited.
In-Store Rewards (formally called Register Rewards)
Beonlinee familiar with in-store rewards (these used to be called Register Rewards). Walgreens In-Store Rewards are manufacturer coupons that print out from a Catalina machine at the register after you have onlinepleted your transaction. The in-store rewards print out after you buy a participating product, which may be advertised in the Walgreens weekly ad. There are also in-store rewards deals not advertised in the weekly ads which are posted inside the store.
Note that in-store rewards can only be earned in-store and redeemed in stores.
In-store rewards are basically manufacturer coupons. When you have a reward in hand to use, you can only use ONE in-store reward per item purchased.
For example: If you are purchasing three items, you can use up to a onlinebination of three manufacturer coupons and/or RRs. If you attempt to use more than three, the register will beep. If you run into a situation where you have more manufacturer coupons/rewards to use than products, look for “filler” items to add to your purchase.
(Fillers are inexpensive items that allow you to apply more coupons at checkout. Great options for filler items include clearance merchandise, small candies, and pencils. Note: Walgreens store coupons do NOT count toward your coupon-to-item ratio. In other words, the register will not beep if you are using more Walgreens coupons than items.)
If you purchase more than one of the same in-store rewards participating item per transaction, you will only receive one in-store reward–NOT two! In order to get more than one in-store rewards when purchasing more than one of the same qualifying items, request that each item is rung up in a separate transaction. However, you can purchase different qualifying items in the same transaction, and you will receive one in-store rewards for each different qualifying in-store rewards item purchased.
Another important thing to note is that in-store rewards deals do not roll. This means that if you receive a $2 in-store reward for purchasing Huggies diapers, you cannot use this same in-store rewards to purchase another package of Huggies diapers and expect another $2 in-store reward to be generated. Occasionally, an in-store rewards deal will roll (which is very unusual). When this happens, I’ll be sure to post about it on Hip2Save.
You can use in-store rewards from a different deal to pay for another in-store rewards deal – which means you can roll in-store rewards from different deals to help lower your out-of-pocket expense.
You can also use Walgreens Cash to pay for your transaction and still earn in-store rewards.
If an in-store reward does not print, make sure the Catalina machine is on (Note: You should see a blinking green light) and that you bought EXACTLY the right variety of products to generate the rewards. If you still feel that you should have received in-store rewards, you can have the cashier delete the transaction and ring your items up again, OR you can leave the store and call the Catalina onlinepany directly.
You can reach Catalina at 1-888-8coupon: Have your receipt in hand and state which items in your purchase should have triggered in-store rewards. Catalina will review your transaction and will mail you a reward within two to three weeks if you did, in fact, buy a qualifying item.
Using Walgreens Store Coupons
Learning how to correctly use Walgreens store coupons will ensure that you have a smooth transaction. Store coupons are available to digitally clip them to your myWalgreens card here.
Walgreens store coupons can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons, sales, Walgreens Cash-earning offers, and/or in-store rewards promos! You can sometimes walk away with really inexpensive or FREE products when you stack these discount offers!
Walgreens store coupons will also apply to multiple items and you only need to “clip” the coupon once. For instance, if you are buying 2 of the same product that qualifies for the coupon, the coupon will be deducted twice – one for each product!
More Helpful Information
If you’re planning to buy mass quantities of a sale item, consider contacting the store to see if you can order the item in advance. (You can usually order up to 99 of a particular item in advance; however, this is at the store’s discretion). Contacting the store is much better than onlineing in on the first day of a sale and onlinepletely wiping out the shelves. The store associates and fellow couponers will love you for taking the time to order *HOT* sale items in advance!
If you’re planning for multiple transactions, consider checking out at the Cosmetics counter (if your store has one). Typically this counter is not as crowded, so the cashier will usually have the time and patience to deal with all the coupons we Hip2Savers like to use and/or to allow for multiple transactions. Don’t forget to ask the cosmetic counter employee if she/he has extra manufacturer coupons for cosmetics-related items (or any other store items). There is often a huge stash of coupons available behind the counter and sometimes FREE samples, too! Just ask!
Walgreens does issue rain checks! Rain checks are good for in-store purchases only and are valid for 60 days. In some instances, a store employee may authorize the substitution of a similar item of the same brand at the advertised price.
Buy One, Get One Free Items: If there’s a Buy One Get One free sale, Walgreens now only allows ONE manufacturer coupon to be applied to the item you are paying for (NO manufacturer coupons are allowed to be applied to the free item). The Walgreens coupon policy states:
- For offers when multiple items are purchased and additional items are free (buy 1 get 1 free; buy 2 get 1 free, etc.), the number of coupons applied to that offer cannot exceed the number of items required in the “buy” portion of the offer.
- Coupons may not be applied against any free item received in any offer.
Also, note that Walgreens will no longer accept coupons that exceed the selling price of an item in stores. If shopping online, your coupon will be adjusted down to make the product free but not allow for any overage.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for orange clearance tags! You can often pair up clearance items with Walgreens and/or manufacturer’s coupons to score items for super cheap or even FREE!
Need a receipt for an in-store pickup order? Log in to your myWalgreens account, and then go to “Your Account” > “Emails & Alerts” > then un-check the box next to “Digital Receipts.”
When picking up your order, be sure to head inside your store to onlineplete the transaction at the register. It’s also helpful to let the cashier know that you would like a paper receipt too. If you choose to pick up your order via curbside, there is no option for the associate to provide you with a paper receipt.
If you have an issue with a cashier, ask to speak with the store manager. If you are unable to resolve the issue with the manager, note the manager’s name and the time the incident occurred and then call Customer Service. The phone number is 1-800-WALGREENS or 1-800-925-4733 or you can click here to start a live chat with a representative. You can always write a letter, too:
