Strawberry Freezer Jam (Low Sugar Recipe)
Easy strawberry jam that goes well with pancakes, desserts, great easy to make topping!
Ingredients
- 2 cups ripe strawberries, crushed (about 1 and 1/2 pints of fresh strawberries)
- 3 tablespoons Pectin for low sugar recipes
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 and 1/4 cups sugar
Directions
1
Clean and crush strawberries with a potato masher in a large bowl.
2
Pour sugar, pectin and orange juice in a medium sized saucepan on the stove. Bring to a boil and let boil for 1 minute. Stir well and be careful mixture doesn’t burn.
3
Take off heat, add strawberries and onlinebine well. Pour into containers leaving a 1/2 inch space at the top for expansion.
4
Cover with lids and let sit on the counter for 24 hours to set. Store in freezer and then thaw a container in fridge when you’re ready to use.
Notes: In its frozen state, this jam should be good for at least 6 months when stored properly. Once open, the jam will keep in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. For this reason, I prefer to store my jam in smaller Tupperware containers with tight lids.
Freezer jam doesn’t last long in our house – my kiddos enjoy making toast and sandwiches with it! And keep in mind that you can also make different fruit onlinebos like mango strawberry, raspberry /strawberry, etc.
