  I am so relief all the ingredients are edible, thank you Collin and Lina! Every year I hold my breath every time I see a recipe that is meant to “help” the reindeer when actually is hurting animals…

  There’s always a negative nancy. I don’t think a teaspoon of glitter in a front lawn is harming wildlife. Many people in neighborhood do not even have wildlife around.

  Totally agree Rebe! The birds and squirrels eat the mix and get sick from glitter. Ignore trolls!

   I did this last year. .. recorded my son reading the “magic poem”…. then sprinkled the lawn. … if you throw in some glitter and loose sequins it will give it a sparkleing effect. The kids loved it! … smiled from ear to ear! ..

   I am getting ready to make these for my daughter’s Christmas party….except I don’t have the jingle bells, which now I totally need to get! Anybody got a “hip” deal on jingle bells? 😉

   This is an awesome recipe! I’d like to add that in addition to this, last year I made a version of this using oats, treat mix, and dehydrated fruits and veggies for my various smaller pets; four guinea pigs, mouse, and bird. I had the bottles put in a basket and left for the kids next to their Santa cookie plate, with a note that asked them to give treats to even the smallest members of the household on behalf of Santa. The kids felt so aconlineplished being Santa’s helpers.

   My daughter came home with one of these last year from her kindergarten class and it was such a hit! Birds ate the oats but the glitter remained on top of the snow. The glitter was silver and she used a baggiebwhich is much cheaper.

  Pin the nose on Rudolph is a cute game, or the left, right game. The kids always enjoyed the left, right game. If you aren’t familiar with that game I am sure you could google it. I t is quite fun.

  You can also do “pin the nose on the snowman.” In the past I have made a bowling game using 2 liter bottles (I painted them to look like penguins), a present toss game where I wrapped empty boxes and had the kids toss them down a “chimney” (just a big box I wrapped in brick paper). Another good one is to have kids wrap each other up in toilet paper and decorate them with hats and scarves like snowmen. Sounds crazy but it’s fun. Can you tell I’ve done a few Christmas parties?

  Maybe get a gift for the classroom or treats for the kids or pencils etc. and wrap it up with multiple layers of wrapping paper. Play music and when music stops the child unwraps one layer and you keep going until the present is revealed.

    We do this as well! We add edible glitter (or sugar sprinkles) so we don’t harm any animals (it’s like tinkerbell’s fairy dust- it helps them fly!), and make daddy sprinkle it on the roof on Christmas Eve! That’s by far the most fun! After all, the reindeer land on the roof, not on the lawn! Haha 😉 My hubby wasn’t thrilled, but our kids (and myself) laughed until it hurt when daddy climbed up to sprinkle the food!

    We did these at my son’s Christmas party last year but I had it set up like a station so the kids could put them together. We used ziplocks and had a different printable that staples over the top but same poem.

    We made magic reindeer hay when my daughter was in the 2nd grade for her class and Girl Scout troop. We took it to the mall and had “Santa” put magic on it. That was 18 years ago. We had extras for years…this year I mailed the very last bag to her to use for her 3 year old and 9 month old. We never spread it in the yard, we put it on a plate…much easier for the “reindeer” to eat.
