Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe

One of the very first recipes I learned to make early in my marriage was a simple slow cooker pot roast. Even to this day, it’s my hubby’s favorite and he still gets really impressed (shhh – don’t tell him it’s so easy to make)! This is how my mom makes pot roast; and on a chilly day, it’s so onlineforting!

Make this easy slow cooker pot roast for an effortless weeknight dinner! Adapted from the back of the Lipton Onion Soup box
Ingredients
- 2-3 pound pot roast
- 1 packet of onion soup mix
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 2 carrots peeled and chopped
- 6 small potatoes chopped ( I like red and yellow potatoes)
- 1/2 cup water
Directions

Brown the outside of the roast with a little oil in a pan on the stove for about 5 minutes.

Mix the tomatoes, water, and onion soup mix and pour over roast, carrots, and potatoes.

Cook on low for about 8-10 hours until tender.
