If you’ve ever visited a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, then you may be familiar with the delicious homemade warm chocolate chip cookies they give you upon checking in. According to Hilton.online, more than 30 million of these DoubleTree cookies are baked each year worldwide for their guests. 😱

Luckily, the Hilton brand released their make-at-home recipe for their Signature DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies for all of us to enjoy at home. No travel required!

As soon as I saw this news, I knew I NEEDED to bake these cookies!

DoubleTree released this recipe during the early COVID lockdowns, when we were all on a baking kick, whipping up everything from Nutella Banana Bread to Chicken Pot Pies, and of course – cookies! Chocolate chip cookies are a family favorite, so it was exciting for me to get to make the DoubleTree ones when they first released the recipe.

Of course, no shocker here- the result was DELICIOUS!

To no one’s surprise, this recipe produced a beautiful batch of AMAZING chocolate chip cookies! If you love a homemade cookie with a soft yet chewy texture, this is a great recipe. I love all the chunks of Nestle chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, too.

I had never thought of adding old-fashioned oats to my chocolate chip cookies, but I loved the bulk and texture it added! This recipe also has a splash of lemon juice and cinnamon, which is unexpected and delish.

Hip recipe tips for making Double Tree chocolate chip cookies: 

  • I used an ice cream scoop as suggested, but it made giant cookies and they spread a lot. Some of my cookies spread into each other, so next time I’ll leave more room in between. I may even invest in a handy cookie scoop set to make smaller cookies!
  • Make sure to allow the DoubleTree cookies to cool for an hour as the recipe states. I tried to move mine too soon and had a casualty. I admit, it’s hard to wait. 😂

One-bowl baking recipes just rock!

As far as the process goes, this is a simple recipe that’s fun to make with the kids as a family activity. I love that there is just one bowl to clean afterward. Many recipes separate the dry and wet ingredients, but in this one, you can throw everything in a stand mixer or use a large mixing bowl and hand mixer as I did!

Yum, these are just plain AMAZING!

If you’re a chocolate chip cookie fan, I definitely reonlinemend trying the Signature DoubleTree cookies, as they were winners for us. I definitely scored some fun mom points for making them. I also even enjoyed one for breakfast the next day with coffee because everyone knows cookies for breakfast once in a while are A-okay 😉 LOL!

    My family and I made these when I saw the recipe on my Apple news feed about a week ago. These are delicious and very tasty. These do freeze well, then easy to scoop some out to make a few at a time. I always love fresh from the oven cookies.

    We made these last night and they are yummy! We used cookie scoops so ours is much smaller. The recipe says it makes 26 cookies… we ended up with a little more than 4 dozen!! I think I’ll try them with less sugar next time though because they were a bit sweet for me. Definitely goes great with a big glass of milk!

    I made these the other day, and my husband guessed on the first bite that were a copycat of the Doubletree cookies. They were amazing, and it was my first time getting perfectly chewy cookies, without using pudding mix or other weird ingredients. Store in an airtight container with a slice of bread, to keep them chewy. This’ll be my go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies!

    We tried these! Everyone seemed to enjoy them but I still prefer the standard toll house recipe. I wasn’t a fan of the cinnamon in it & these were super thick.

    I made these 3 days ago. First off, I have never baked cookies from scratch. I’m a newbie to cooking/baking. I read so many great reviews and decided to try it out. The cookies came out delicious. My 3 kids absolutely love them. I scooped them out and freeze them. I have to say, I think the frozen ones taste better. I bake 6 cookies a day. Love it!!

    I made them too. Hubby loves all chocolate chip cookies and declared them delicious. I thought they were almost too chocolaty. I’ll cut down on the amount of chocolate chips if I make them again. I prefer the crisp chocolate chip cookies I usually make.

      I agree. I always use half the amount of chips in recipe and cut the sugar by 1/3. Everyone still loves them and at least they’re a little better for you!😉. This is very similar to Monster Cookies.

    Theres a video of a guy making these cookies (on Hilton newsroom /Vimeo) and he packs the dough in the scoop and presses the dough down to make it a thick circle, so that might keep the cookies from spreading. Gonna try this recipe tomorrow!

    We made these last week and they are the best! I decreased the amount of chocolate chips a bit and added a few chunky sea salt flakes to the top. Definitely a new favorite! I plan on trying to make smaller cookies next time. SOOO good!

    I started making these a few month ago and the family loves them! I also did a modified version where I replaced the chocolate chips and walnuts with dried cranberries, white chocolate chips and pecans….both ways are awesome!!!

    I’m curious about the lemon juice in them. Do they have a strong lemon flavor? I’m not a fan of lemon flavored things. Wondering if I could just leave that out.

      The reason for the lemon juice is to activate the baking soda, which makes a softer cookie. I don’t think it gives a lemon flavor.

    I’ve worked for DT for 15 years. We do not make ours this way. We don’t add the lemon juice or the cinnamon. Also, our recipe only calls for 2 cups of chocolate chips and we add 2 cups (not 1 3/4) of the nuts I’ll try to get a picture of the recipe poster when I go to work on Monday!

    This has been my new favorite cookie recipe since H2S posted it. While the original recipe is great, I’ve found that this works better (for me)…. I use 1 stick of salted butter and 1/2 c. butter flavor Crisco. I also only use C&H Brown Sugar, Gold Medal Flour, and Hershey’s Milk Chocolate chip (doesn’t matter on brand name for the other ingredients)…. The consistency of the cookies and taste is better (for me). Believe me, I’ve tried using other brands and I can tell the difference. With 1-3/4 c of walnuts, I tell my husband (and justify in my own mind) that they are good for me! 🙂

    I love these cookies! One of the best things is you can make the dough and freeze the individual dough balls. Then just take out a few and bake. Keeps me from wanting to eat all the cookies!
