ham in crock pot

Ham is one the easiest holiday meals to prepare, and making one in the slow cooker is convenient and YUMMY!

My favorite ham flavors are orange and clove and this recipe and cooking method resulted in a tender, juicy ham with lots of great citrus flavor. My family loved it, and the leftovers were just as delicious!

Feel free to improvise on the glaze to make your own version. For instance, my mom makes a version with a little defrosted orange juice concentrate and whole cloves pressed in the top of ham.glazed ham sitting on a tray

Do you ever put a whole turkey in the crockpot?

    • Lina D

Yes I’ve done a turkey breast in my slow cooker – it’s yummy as well.

    • Ashley

We actually did that this year. We stuffed the whole turkey inside the crockpot lol. It came out great.

    • Renee

Yes, for 2 years! I put aluminum foil around the edges where there is a gap between the lid and pot. It took 8 hours for a 12 pound turkey to cook on low.

  4. Silversmiles

Ill have to try this glaze. Usually I use pineapple and Cherries with a touch of Smoked paprika. But I think that the Orange and cloves will be a nice change.

    • Lina D

      Great! Enjoy 😋

  5. Mama

Thanks, I did ours in the Crock-Pot and made a glaze with brown sugar and pineapple juice. I want to give yours a try, too….it looks really good.

  6. olgraygirl

I can almost smell it–I’m all over this on Christmas Day, when we always have a spiral sliced ham. Thanks so much!!

  7. Seberina Thrush

Would a non-spiral sliced ham work?

  8. Rhanda

My daughter doesn’t like any glaze at all on the ham. Would it be okay to cook this without the glaze or would I need to add some sort of liquid?

    • Lana

We do not like a sweet glaze either. Just heat it in the crockpot until it is hot through and it is ready to eat.

  9. JES

Thank you. We have a family lake house and when we are all there, we have 12 people. We are always looking for things to cook in the crock pot, so we can spend more time outside and not heat the whole house by using to oven. And it can also be difficult to find something that one of the families has not eaten already that week. Never thought of using it to cook a ham. Thanks again, this will added to the rotation.

In Sundays Pressure Cooking Today dot online, she lists how to use your Instant Pot pressure cooker to cook your spiral ham. Moisture stays in longer accordingly.
