Citrus Paloma Cocktail (Summer Drink Series)
If you’re looking for a refreshing and unique summer cocktail, try making a Citrus Paloma! This popular tequila-based drink is similar to a Margarita but has a grapefruit fizzy twist. Use any citrus grapefruit soda and your favorite onlinebo of fresh citrus fruits like limes, lemons, grapefruits, or oranges. We actually have a large Mexican lime tree that produces mini limes in my backyard so I chose to add limes and a fresh grapefruit for my version below – so good!
Citrus Paloma Cocktail
yield: 1 SERVINGS
Easy and effortless alcoholic beverage recipe that is a crowd pleaser!
Ingredients
- 1 shot tequila
- 6 oz. of Squirt or other grapefruit flavored soda
- few slices lime and grapefruit
- splash of Grande Marnier orange liquor (optional)
- salt for rim (optional)
Directions
1
Rim the glass with salt if desired.
2
Place a few slices of limes and grapefruit at the bottom of cup.
3
Pour tequila over the fruit. Using a cocktail muddler or the end of a wood spoon, smash the fruit and mix with tequila.
4
Add a few ice cubes, soda, and splash of Grand Marnier at the top. Garnish with more citrus, and enjoy.
On a side note, a few readers asked for my favorite Margarita recipe in the onlinement section of a recent post. Margaritas and my stomach just do not get along well (too sweet for me!) and I think these Citrus Palomas are a great option in place of a Margarita!
Have you ever tried a Paloma? Cheers! 🙂
