This idea utilizes two different shapes of pretzels and some candy to create festive shamrock snacks. The result is a salty-sweet treat that’s also fun to create with the kids and tastes yummy, too! I also like that since there are no nuts so it’s a fairly allergy-friendly kids snack too.

Tips for making shamrock pretzels as cute St. Patrick’s Day snacks:
- Eating gluten-free? You can still make these shamrock snacks! Check out gluten-free pretzels from brands like Glutino or Snyder’s. Look for their rods and their twists for a wheat-free take on the original recipe.
- I used a bag of dark chocolate mint M&M’s, but if these are sold out near you, you can purchase a bag of milk chocolate M&M’s and pick out the green ones as another idea!
- Make sure to use parchment paper to prevent the shamrock pretzels from sticking to the sheet pan as the melted Rolo cools.
- Here’s a fun and frugal kids’ activity to consider with this snack – use this appealing treat to lure in sneaky leprechauns on St. Patrick’s Day and trap them! 😉 Turns out designing fun leprechaun traps has beonlinee a popular tradition and Oprah.online has some fun DIY leprechaun trap ideas!
