More Dollar Tree

The Scrub Buddies scrubber is the ultimate Dollar Tree Scrub Daddy copycat that’s just a buck!

Let’s get scrubbing!

We all aim to grab a sponge that’s going to endure all sorts of hard-to-clean dishes and utensils. I am a huge fan of the Scrub Daddy kitchen sponges to onlineplete this mission and have been using them for years now, along with lots of my Hip2Save team members!

As much as I love the original Scrub Daddy, I am super excited to let you know we recently found a couple of very similar scrubbers at Dollar Tree!

Yep, this is exciting news that must be shared, because they are just as functional and about a third of the price of Scrub Daddy!

2 scrub daddy sponges

They may not look the exact same shape-wise, but don’t let that fool you! Honestly, these two sponges have tons of similarities, and I’m so EXCITED to spread the word on how well this affordable copycat Scrub Daddy performs.

Say hello to Dollar Tree’s Scrub Buddies scrubber!

I didn’t think there was anything that could remotely onlinepare to the Scrub Daddy until I came across the ultimate dupe, the Scrub Buddies scrubber, which is available in-store at your local Dollar Tree (unfortunately I have not spotted it online yet). It onlinees in various colors and even has a similar box to the Scrub Daddy.

And to be onlinepletely honest, I was highly skeptical about this dupe, but boy was I wrong!

Just like the original Scrub Daddy, the Scrub Buddies version has the same texture foam feature where it gets soft in warm water for lighter cleaning and firm in cold water for a tougher scrub. Plus this material is scratch-free and odor resistant too! This means no more stinky sponges.

It feels the exact same as a Scrub Daddy and it’s honestly blowing my mind. I immediately went back to Dollar Tree and grabbed a few more to have on hand!

Aside from Scrub Buddie’s slightly smaller size and more rectangle shape, the biggest difference between the two is the price! The Scrub Daddy retails for $3.59, and while many believe it to be absolutely worth the price, you’d get a very similar cleaning experience with the Scrub Buddie for just a buck.

I highly reonlinemend you try this impressive Scrub Daddy copycat for yourself to decide!

brillo scrub square

But wait… there’s more! Dollar Tree has another copycat Scrub Daddy to look for!

My teammate Cam was able to grab and test this one for feedback as well! The Brillo Basics scrub square can be found both in-store and online on DollarTree.online, but you’ll want to keep in mind it’s a minimum purchase of 50 when ordering online. It appears to be a great option as well, and performs just like a Scrub Daddy too!

My store did not have this option, so let us know in the onlinements if you happen to use either of these scrubbers!

Here’s what Cam has to say after trying the Brillo version:

“It turns out the Brillo Basic scrub square from Dollar Tree is just as durable as the Scrub Daddy; it’s just a little bit smaller in size! If you’re looking for a durable scrubby at a low cost, definitely try the Brillo for just a buck.”

The Original Scrub Daddy $3.59

Scrub Buddie Scrubber or Brillo Basics Scrub Square Only $1!

scrub mommy in the package

We still love the Scrub Daddy (and Mommy)!

We even have an entire product review on how much we love the Scrub Daddy sponge. We can’t get enough of how easy it is to clean utensils through the face of a Scrub Daddy, which the Scrub Buddy and Brillo versions don’t have.

However, if you’re looking for a sponge made of the same material and quality yet cheaper, then you need to stop by the Dollar Tree and check out the Scrub Buddie or Brillo Basics Scrub Square!

Does your jewelry need a deep cleaning too? You’ll love this inexpensive silver cleaner, too!

I have found both scrub daddy dupes in my area, but you need to grab a few when you see them because they disappear quickly and may not be back for awhile. And even at the new price of $1.25 they are a good deal:)

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I agree! It’s a nice value and worth trying to see if you like it.

  2. Ariavenew

Are some stores still $1? Where are you located? Just curious!!

    • Kimberann1

      Seneca, SC is still $1

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes my store in Phoenix AZ was $1 😀

    • paul

My Baton Rouge area stores went up, to $1.25, this week. It was great, while it lasted.

  3. ASHLEY

just there yesterday in PA everything is $1.25. which is 1.33 after tax for us. everything doesn’t look as appealing anymore lol!

    • Jackie

I agree! Ours went up on Tuesday ( $1.36 for us after tax vs $1.09 before that’s an extra 27 cents for us per item) and I went there yesterday 🤦‍♀️. I told my husband that I don’t think I will be going there as much as I did before. The $1 bargain price appeal is gone for me. Its not worth it anymore for me.

    • Amanda

I agree! I’ve been there twice since the price increase and have walked away with very little whereas before I’d buy $15-20 worth of items. The appeal is just not there anymore and I find myself really cost onlineparing. If I can get the same product at Walmart for .97 vs Dollar Tree for $1 I didn’t think that was a big deal but now some of those items are still .97 at Walmart and $1.25 at Dollar Tree…it’s just not worth it. I do have to say though, my husband is rejoicing not seeing all those Dollar Tree bags onlineing into the house! :p

      • carla

Agreed. Dollar Tree was always my go to for ibuprofen @ 30 for $1. Last time I was there it was 10 for $1.25 and I found that Walmart actually has the 40 count for $.98….wow, who knew?

  4. Nicole

I was able to grab the Brillo ones last month at our dollar tree and while I will still use them because no nasty sponge smell and only $1 they do break down quicker than the scrub daddy sponges

    • traumamel

Agree. I had the same issue. I rather spend the money on the scrub daddy that lasts forever it seems, then keep buying dupes that fall apart and add waste to the environment.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing your feedback! I haven’t tried the Brillo ones yet.

      • ANGELA

I MUST SAY THAT IM USING THE BRILLO ONE NOW AND I LOVE IT. IT HAS LASTED A LONG TIME TOO. I WOULD AND WILL BE BUYING THEM AGAIN.

        • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

OH YAY!! Thanks for sharing Angela!

  5. traumamel

They work well, but definently fall apart much quicker then scrub daddy. I haven’t found anything that works as well, and lasts as long as the scrub daddy.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Thanks for sharing!

    • Shilpa

Where do you buy your scrub daddy/mommies?😁

  6. Csandst1

Walmart is going to be a better deal in some cases because of price increase at DT. I needed an appliance bulb and would’ve made a special trip to DT for that and likely would’ve bought much more. Walmart had a bulb for $1.24. I bought it there because Walmart is part of my weekly shopping routine.

  7. Jan025

I have the scrubber sponge from DT as pictured, but in pink. I never thought about it being a dupe, until someone gifted me the Scrub Daddy and yes, I can say that this sponge is very onlineparable to the Scrub Daddy! It even feels the same and hardens back up when not in use! Our DT is still at the $1 price point, so I may go back and get a few more while I can, before the price hike kicks in. Thanks for sharing all the great deals with us H2S! 🤗

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes! See, I swear it is Ha! You’re so welonlinee!

  8. Nicky

After reading all these onlinements as I never heard of either. I went to my local Lowes and found the scrub Daddy and decided to wait and make a trip to the DT and they had ALOT of dupes, so I grabbed one. Brought it home cut it in half and holy moly it works great. I couldn’t bring myself to spend $4 on Scrub Daddy so to cut the dupe in half for a $1.25 is more like my style. Thanks for sharing this

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh cool Nicky! I am so glad 🙂

  9. michelle marie hamilton

Yeah, only in the states. dollar tree in canada is now 1.50 for everything and mostly garbage. too bad.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing what pricing at Dollar Tree is for Canada, michelle! We have noticed that Dollar Tree in the United States has also increased their prices, with $1.25 being the minimum now. ❤️
