Walmart Great Value Snacks That Taste Better Than Little Debbie!
Move over Little Debbie, these Great Value snacks take the cake! 🧁
If the onlineing New Year has you calculating a new budget, consider saving nearly $1 per box or more when you add these Great Value snacks to your next grocery list.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised that most of these snacks are, dare we say, better than the original – and lower in calories, too! 😱
We tried 4 Great Value snack cakes and their popular Little Debbie counterparts and here’s our honest feedback:
1. Little Debbie Honey Buns vs. Great Value Honey Buns Glazed
- Honey Buns 6-Pack $2.68
- Great Value Honey Buns 6-Pack $1.98
Total savings: 70¢
Same size, same glaze-to-bun ratio, lower price – what more could you ask for? Some reviewers mention the GV bun is slightly harder and less ‘doughy’, but a quick pop in the microwave quickly solves this problem.
Plus, like other reviewers, I think that the GV bun is not overly sweet and has just 210 calories onlinepared to 230 from Little Debbie!
2. Little Debbie Swiss Rolls vs. Great Value Swiss Rolls
Total savings: 70¢
The GV Swiss rolls are another near-identical snack with the same size, swirl shape, and frosting-to-cake ratio as the Little Debbie version. Both are moist with creamy frosting, and if you were blindfolded, I’m certain you wouldn’t be able to taste the difference.
What’s even more shocking is that not only are the GV Swiss Rolls saving your wallet, but they’re saving your waistband too, with just 240 calories instead of 280, and less total and saturated fat too!
3. Hostess Snoballs vs. Great Value Pink Snowball Snack Cakes
- Hostess Snoballs 6-Pack $3.48 or 58¢ each– in-store only!
- Great Value Pink Snowball Snack Cakes 12-Pack $4.57 or 38¢ each
Price difference: 20¢ per cake
Don’t let the larger box size and lower price per cake fool you; there’s no copying this original Hostess favorite! I was immediately turned off by the marshmallow layer that peeled off in an unappetizing ‘blanket’ instead of being gooey and attached to the cake as marshmallows should. 😖
I almost didn’t try this one, but upon tasting, the flavors are all a bit muted, and it ultimately doesn’t satisfy that sweet craving.
4. Little Debbie Nutty Bars vs. Great Value Peanut Butter Bars
Total savings: 70¢
The winner in my book IS the GV Peanut Butter Bars! 🏆 The crunch, the melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter, and the creamy milk chocolate were onlinepletely identical, so for the price, you know I’m going to reach for GV!
PLUS, this GV swap had some of the best nutritional facts when onlinepared to Little Debbie:
GV Peanut Butter Bars (2 wafers)
- Calories: 280
- Total Fat: 16g
- Total Carbohydrates: 32g
Little Debbie Nutty Buddy Bars (2 wafers)
- Calories: 320
- Total Fat: 19g
- Total Carbohydrates: 32g
It’s no surprise hundreds of reviewers love the taste of these Great Value snacks, too!
I have always ordered the Name Brand of these wafer bars. This time I decided to try the Great Value peanut butter bars. They are every bit as good as the name brand, and I will buy these from now on. Saved over $1.00. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why are these better than the name brand?! I typically stick with name-brand foods, but I saw these and thought I would give them a try. Absolutely blown away by the taste and costs. I will buy it again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These are by far the most delicious little treats if you are on a budget! Good at morning, noon or night! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
