As you likely noticed, to figure out your size in kids shoes simply subtract about 1.5 sizes from your adult size and that will give you the correct kids-to-adult conversion for the kids size you need to buy.
For example, a woman size 8 is a size 6.5 in kids. While all brands and sizes run slightly differently, this can be a great shopping guide until you’re used to buying in the youth department.

Place a piece of paper up against the wall and tape it to the floor.
Put on a pair of socks you often wear with shoes and stand with your back and ankles up against a wall.
Use a pencil to mark the longest part of both feet and then trace your entire foot.
Step off the paper.
Use a ruler to measure your foot’s length from heel to toe.
