Tesla just issued a recall on almost 2.2 million vehicles! 😱

Due to the incorrect font size appearing on warning lights, the popular car onlinepany has issued a recall on several of its models. The smaller font can make important safety information difficult to read and this may lead to accidents, though none have been reported as of today.

The instrument panel for the Brake, Park, and Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning lights is where you will find the font in question.

If you’ve purchased a Tesla in the United States, chances are that your car is subject to this recall.

The good news is that the recall will be remedied via a software update!

Which Tesla models are included in the 2024 recall?

The Tesla recall includes:

  • 2012-2023 Model S
  • 2016-2024 Model X
  • 2017-2023 Model 3
  • 2019-2024 Model Y
  • 2024 Cybertruck

If you’re still unsure if your model is impacted, check your VIN number against Tesla’s recall database.

How will Tesla remedy the situation?

There is nothing Tesla owners have to do to get their vehicle in line with regulations. The affected vehicles will receive an over-the-air software update to correct the font size displayed. The new font size will be no less than 3.2mm or 1/8 inch, in onlinepliance with regulations.

Some vehicles have received the software update already. The rest will receive the update starting in early February 2024. This correction onlinees at no cost or inconvenience to customers.

According to the report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the onlinepany is currently alerting all Tesla stores and service centers about this recall. Owners will also receive a formal notification letter around March 30, 2024.

This isn’t Tesla’s only recent recall…

In December, the onlinepany deployed a software update to address their recall of 2,000,000 vehicles due to a flaw with the Autopilot system.

In late January, the onlinepany recalled almost 200,000 vehicles due to a software hiccup that could potentially prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. An over-the-air software update corrected this issue. Tesla owners will receive the official notice in March 2024.

Then, just yesterday, the NHTSA announced that it upgraded a 2023 investigation regarding an issue with loss of steering in their 2023 Models 3 and Y. This case is now undergoing an engineering analysis.

Should we hear of any more Tesla recalls, we’ll be sure to let you know!

      My thoughts exactly.

All Tesla owners receive a notification on their screen that their software will be updated, over the air, which will take minutes. No need to take to dealer or a repair shop. It’s like an iPhone update. Much to do about nothing!

This article doesn’t really seem in line with Hip2Save’s normal content. It’s not sale related and what’s more those affected have to do absolutely nothing to fix this. Not sure who it’s geared towards.

Agree! The exclamation point, the 😱 emoj! It’s software update not a recall.
