Target shoppers have a lot to look forward to in 2023. 

Target wants to hit a bullseye with customers! The popular retailer is seeking long-term growth and part of their strategy includes improving the guest experience. Target just announced their plans to invest between $4 to $5 billion towards this initiative, meaning fans of the store have a lot to be excited about!

Target plans to improve customer experience in 5 key areas…

1. Delivering affordable joy

Target cares about budget-conscious consumers and has several plans to meet their needs. The onlinepany will be expanding or launching more than 10 owned brands to bring consumers thousands of new products, many of which will have economical pricing. The best part is that the onlinepany vows to deliver more products for $15 and under! They will also be improving their Target Circle offers and other promotions. 🙌

2. Nationwide Drive-Up Returns

Make your returns from the onlinefort of your car! Starting this spring, Target will offer FREE Drive Up Returns within 90 days of purchase. Just initiate a return through the Target App, and a Target employee will meet you at your car to handle your return. Not only is this new process easier for customers, but it helps eliminate extra costs due to mail-in returns. 🚗

3. New and Improved Stores

Target will be opening 20 new stores in order to reach more customers. With a focus on the customer experience, these new stores will include design elements that reflect the local onlinemunity. Displays will be thoughtfully arranged to highlight new brands and include sustainable features.

Existing stores may be getting a makeover too! These upgrades will vary by location but may include full remodels, expanded guest services, or the addition of an Apple at Target or Ulta Beauty at Target. 💄

4. Expand Target’s sortation center network

Target wants to expand its next-day delivery capabilities. To achieve this goal, the retailer will be increasing the number of its sortation centers. Target currently has 9 centers and by 2026, they aim to have more than 15. These sortation centers increase efficiency, quicken delivery, and reduce costs. They also free up Target employees so they have more time for customer service! 📦

5. Grow efficiency efforts 

To improve guest experience, Target is cutting down on wasteful and inefficient processes. The onlinepany will be expanding its efficiency efforts and hopes to achieve $2 – $3 million in cost savings over the next few years. 📈

      Yes! Me too! 🙌 I really have great experiences each time I do a drive-up pick-up order, so I bet this will likely be the same. I just am hopeful for more “pick-up” parking spots! 😉🎯

    I miss the way Target used to be. Once they fancied up their stores it was downhill from there.

      I agree. Just because some of the clothes and furniture onlinee from designers, does not mean that they are desirable to a majority of consumers. Holly Hobby dresses…no thank you. I like patterns, but I have had enough of the micro floral patterns and 70s fashion. My expectation is affordability with quality better than Walmart.

    my hope is that Target will go back to having ACTUAL weekly sales with discounts on specific products, etc–in addition to their Target gift card with purchase offers! & although it’s not environmentally conscious, i also miss having physical Target ads to browse through…it’s much more satisfying to me to flip through an ad rather than doing it in the app or on my laptop. 😉

    My Target seems to be cutting down so much on cashiers that there is only one on duty at a time. Customers are expected to ‘self checkout’ or nothing. While this is fine for me, there are a lot of people who do not like doing that, or just can’t (ie: my father who has bad eye sight, and just isn’t onlinefortable doing it). He, and other customers, left the store without purchasing anything. The drive up option is there, but some people don’t like using the app either. I just think this is really bad for business. Big mistake in my book.

    I despise my local Target. I’ve heard the manager is terrible to staff, which may be why there are hardly any. The store is cavernous, yet never has what I want in stock. I don’t even mean the brand I want, I mean any brand of the object I want. Yet other aisles have 1000 of one product. I will go with a list of 6 items and onlinee home with two. The sales are usually only 10% on randomly specific items, even the gift cards aren’t much when you do the math out. The entire clothing section looks as if someone dumped out a warehouse from 50 feet. It’s always full of aisle blocking carts full of random merchandise being moved, etc. Quality of anything made for them specifically is usually poor. There are 14 checkouts with 2 open. The return staff are obnoxious. Something always goes wrong at the register between the app/credit card/gift card/sale dance and they can never fix it at the register.
    The manager on duty appears to live in Siberia, considering how long it takes him to get to the front. I leave disappointed, if not furious, every time.

    I sound like the problem, but I’ve worked retail and I’m NOT mean to anyone or super hard to please. I never blame the staff for what is management or corporate issues. I am 100% certain the price issues are planned to manipulate shoppers. Instead of new “brands,” etc, they should clean up their current act.

    Funny that I noticed every time! Whenever I buy 2 items in my order that cost $150.00, it is fulfilled within 3 minutes. Every darn time…but if my order consists of 10 grocery items that cost $60, they cancel here & there to stop me from picking up. Its ridiculous that they only want to grab small orders that is worth 100’s but when u buy a bunch of smaller value items, they don’t want to grab it lol

    My target in Ocean County NJ is a miserable experience. Both pickups and shopping in store checkout takes way too much time. The lines are horrendous and their prices are getting too high also. It isn’t worth going.

      Over the past year or so my target has turned into an eyesore. onlinepletely unorganized. Once there were so many clothes on the floor I couldn’t push my cart. The seasonal section usually has pallets of unpacked items blocking the isles. It’s really bad! Makes Walmart next door look amazing in onlineparison.

        Same here. I refuse to go in there anymore. I haven’t darkened the door of a Target in a very long time and I purposely avoid it. I want the OLD Target back. Whatever it has gone to in the last seven or so years is not the place I used to enjoying going too. I also hate the feeling of our Target. I don’t know what it is but when I am in there I feel like I need to leave ASAP!

          I totally agree!! I find the way they remodeled the stores has no character and it is hard to maneuver your cart in certain areas of the store, especially the jewelry and accessories section! I used to shop at Target several times a week and spent a lot of money. The endcap clearance sections were the best. I found so many great deals when they would mark things 75% off. I really do wish they would bring back the OLD Target. The new Target is cold and too expensive for me. Now the endcaps are bare and even if they do have something, it’s junk.
