Peloton Recalls Over 2 Million Exercise Bikes Due to Risk of Injury
Peloton is recalling about 2.2 million of its exercise bikes due to an issue with the seat that can cause it to break during use. This problem creates a risk of falling and potential injury to the user.
At this point, Peloton has received 35 reports of the seat post breaking and detaching from the bike during use. There have been 13 reports of injuries including a fractured wrist, lacerations, and bruises due to falling from the bike.
The Peleton recall includes bikes with model number PL01, which is displayed on the inside front fork, near the flywheel. This model was sold from January 2018 through May 2023 for about $1,400 in the US.
If you have one of the recalled Peleton Bikes, you should immediately stop using it and contact Peloton for a free repair. The onlinepany is offering consumers a free seat post that can be installed at home.
