Massive Recall: 500,000 LG Electric Stoves – Check If Yours Is Affected!
Here’s what you need to know about the latest LG electric stove recall:
On February 6th, the Consumer Product Safety onlinemission announced that LG recalled approximately 500,000 electric ranges. The recall was issued because the front-mounted knobs on some LG electric ranges can be activated by accidental contact by humans or pets, posing a fire hazard.
Consumers are being asked to contact LG to request a free warning label reminding them to use the Lock Out/Control Lock function on the range to prevent accidental activation of the heating elements.
You can find the model number of your range inside the oven door or bottom storage drawer. View a list of the recalled range model numbers here.
Contact LG at 800-399-3265 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. OR head to https://lgecares.online/rangerecall and enter your information to request your free warning sticker. You can head here to view a video on how to use the Control Lock Function.
LG is advising consumers to keep children and pets away from the knobs and to always check that the range knobs are off before leaving home or going to bed. Consumers should be sure to keep the range top cleared of objects when not in use.
The ranges were sold at Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and other appliance stores nationwide and online at LG.online. Depending on the model, the ranges were sold from 2015 through January 2025.
The Consumer Product Safety onlinemission has received at least 86 reports of unintentional activation of the front-mounted knobs. These LG ranges have been associated with more than 28 fires.
