Kohl’s is updating their coupon policy! Here’s what you need to know…

We love a good Kohl’s coupon, but the growing number of exclusions has bogged down shoppers’ excitement for scoring these “hot” deals. 🫠  What used to be many customers’ go-to store has now beonlinee a thing of the past. These readers said it best:

Kohl’s is getting as bad as JCP and Macy’s with regards to not being able to use coupons on their ever growing list of brands that “just” don’t apply. Hey Kohl’s – hope it works out for you but I’m bowing out. There are plenty of places to spend my money and get better deals. bye bye!Hip Facebook follower, Susan

Lol it’s like a game, a not very fun game. Spend time shopping just to find out the coupon doesn’t work on what you picked 🤬 waste of my time! – Hip Facebook follower, Mary

I don’t spend money there like I used to since they’ve whittled away what the coupons were good on.  – Hip Reader, Leanne

Kohl’s has really went downhill the last few years, so this doesn’t surprise me.  – Hip Reader, Nikki

But a big change is onlineing involving an updated coupon policy! 🙌🏼

After significant losses for over 11 fiscal quarters and many Kohl’s stores soon closing, newly appointed CEO Ashley Buchanan knew it was time to make a change, and what better way than an amendment to the widely popular Kohl’s Cash and coupons!

According to Buchanan, the goal is to reverse some of the exclusions to allow customers to shop with promotional coupons more consistently.

Although there is no clear mention of which brands/ items will be returning to the coupons and Kohl’s Cash, we’re hoping that some of the more recent exclusions like Vans, Skechers, Carter’s, and floorcare brands will be included once again!

It hasn’t been all bad news for Kohl’s, though. Previous CEO, Tom Kingsbury, hoped to connect with younger shoppers with the addition of Sephora to Kohl’s stores, and we’re still pretty happy to be able to use coupons there! So, let’s hope that continuous good news saves this nostalgic store for loyal customers.

What are you hoping to see included in Kohl’s coupons? Let us know in the onlinements below!

Its been a long time onlineing where kohls is concerned but they basically lost my business within the last 5 years….I think the free shipping for cardholders went away within that time period, except for customers who spent quite a bit and then there were exclusions for their toys whenever it seemed I was in the market to purchase them, usually Christmas….their website is also bad….so slow, so in need of an update…its hard for customers to spend money online with them when you give up in frustration before you buy anything…Their mobile site is fine but for me being older and eyesight being not so hot I like using websites sometimes but I don’t have the patience for theirs as its really bad. Basically I didn’t quit Kohls but they sure quit me. While I am glad they may be reversing their coupon policy it may be too little too late as there is so much that needs improved…but good luck to them and I hope they can earn back my business one day.

I wonder with them giving back some of the inclusions if the percentage off will go down, like no more 40% off coupons..

    • Cheryl72

      exclusions*

  3. Samantha

I had read a while ago that Kohl’s was teaming up with Aldi at some of the stores.

  4. [email protected]

Yup. They lost me when they excluded Ninja and Carter’s from coupons

And bring back toys to the 30%!!! And get lower interest on that kohls charge. I have lost almost all interest for going there. The sales and deals haven’t been great for a while now. They need to understand that people shop for deals now. Prices have gone up but not our paychecks.

I stopped shopping at Kohl’s after learning that they significantly raised their credit card finance charges to an unreasonable level. Even though I never carry a balance, I refuse to contribute any of my money to their bottom line. Additionally, I’ve noticed that the quality of their merchandise has declined over the past few years, and I choose not to spend my hard-earned money on inferior products.

  7. Jimnie

I took a return to the local Kohl’s and mention to the customer service person that the coupons were pretty much worthless since a lot of items were excluded. She agreed.

I’m curious, if you have stopped shopping at Kohl’s, where you are finding better deals and better quality? Would love to know better options. Thanks.

Honestly, I have found better deals at the actual manufacturer’s websites (Nike, Converse, etc) and on brands through Amazon than anywhere else! I rely on Hip2Save to point me in the right direction! Their suggestions to register with the retailer for free shipping seals the deal. I get emails telling me there’s a sale and giving me codes.

  9. Tracey

I’m not a fan of the high amount needed to get free shipping – a perk of having a Kohl’s card should be free shipping with a lower amount. My biggest problem is online ordering for in-store pickup – sometimes I’ve had to wait over a week for my order to be filled!! (This is for items that the website says are in stock at the store.)

  10. luna164

Kohls used to be one of my favorite stores. I was shopping there all the time and loved the free shipping for cardholders buuut Kohl’s has gone downhill over the years. Would love to see some of the new changes.

  11. Sue

They lost me when they replaced the Kohls Card with the Capital One Visa.

  12. Kim

I love Kohl’s. True that you can’t use coupons on name brand merchandise. When they run the 50% discount off clearance you can get the discount on name brand as long as it is on clearance. I have always received wonderful customer service at my Kohl’s and I love the quality of their merchandise!

  13. Les

I use to buy all my clothes from kohls but then they started with all the exclusions I basically don’t shop there anymore.
