Museums for All grants EBT card holders discounted or FREE admission. 🙌

Thanks to Museums For All, EBT card holders & members of the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) can receive FREE or reduced admission at over 1,200 different museums across the country. One EBT card can grant up to at least 4 people admission at the discounted price. All you need to do to receive this benefit is show your EBT card (Electronic Benefits Transfer card). That’s it!

If you’re unfamiliar with the Museums For All program, it has served over 8 million customers! The organization is breaking down barriers by helping everyone – regardless of inonlinee – have access to the knowledge inside museums. Through their partnership with Museums For All, participating institutions offer EBT card holders FREE admission or discounted tickets for $3 or less!

What museums are free with an EBT card?

Head over to the Museums For All website to search a full list of museums offering this deal. Tons of amazing museums are included in the program. For example, California has over 100 museums you can visit including the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

Several major attractions are on the list! Stop by the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center in Colorado or the Boston Children’s Museum in Massachusetts. Entertain your kiddos at the International Spy Museum in Washington D.C., the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL, or the Louisiana Children’s Museum in New Orleans, LA. You can even browse the art galleries at some of the best museums in the country like The Art Institute of Chicago or the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN.

The full list of participating museums includes institutions dedicated to subjects like culture, history, art, natural sciences, animals, aviation, gardening, automobiles, and more!

Be sure to take advantage of this benefit while it’s available. Before visiting, call the museum to verify if they require advanced registration.

You might click through the link in the post to see participating museum locations near you, and call your nearest one to see if they’d honor WIC as well. Hoping this might be helpful! đź’—

      In VT, it works with WIC, EBT and state insurance. If you qualify for WIC, you inonlinee qualify for EBT. VT is definitely a state that wants to find ways to allow ALL children to experience life experiences in any way possible. I would definitely call and ask.

    Our school system gave ebt Snap Cards to every child during the pandemic. It also got us season passes to our local zoo for only $12 per person.

      Hi there! It seems that might vary by the museum you choose. I did find this answer in the FAQ – “Please check with the museum you wish to visit ahead of time, as we cannot guarantee that they will honor anything besides the SNAP EBT card.”

    I’m not a fan of this idea, why not discounted or free for everyone. Some get punished for working hard and they can’t go without a discount.

      I agree with you and a survey in several state agrees with you also. However most people are afraid to speak up and be called racist or worst. I am so tired of working my @ss off just to have people take advantage of the system. I have an elderly neighbor whose tenants have not paid rent since the pandemic started. The housing court for eviction is still 24 months out. My neighbor has to ask the other neighbors and friends to buy her husband insulin and she is going without her cancer treatment. Meanwhile her tenant is driving a brand new car, has a 55 inch tv, gets free health care, all the kids have new apple goods, while the parents collect wic and food stamp because they work for cash under the table. However, my neighbor can’t even get her health insurance premium paid for or reduced because she owns her home (well the bank does because it’s a mortgage). It’s a shame, I have no problem helping those who truly need like seniors and veterans with mental health issues but freeloaders? I am tired of it. I know my post won’t be published though.

        I understand what you’re saying, Sam. Not sure where you live or if this is for all 50 states, but In the state of Florida, there are stipulations if you are between the ages of 18-50 to apply for Food Stamps. Mostly that you are required to be actively seeking employment with proof.
        Of course if you are Disabled or other qualifications you are excused from this requirement.

        I have a neighbor that does the same thing he does work hard but he also gets free government assistance drives brand new vehicles, has a house that’s is over 3000sq, and boast how much government gives them, because he gets paid under the table and does not report all his inonlinee. They even had another kid because of the pandemic giving more money out.

        Most museums offer a free day to all if you check the fine print and their schedule. What’s the problem with institutions opening their doors to all inonlinee levels by having this EBT program.

        As someone who wouldn’t qualify for these programs, based on salary, I understand your frustration. That said, let’s be honest, those taking advantage of the system are probably less likely to take their children to use these opportunities, so hopefully, this program is going to good use and if so, that should be the main focus. That said, I’m a type one diabetic. At one point in life, I didn’t have insurance, Walmart, has a generic insulin, that doesn’t require a prescription and is $25 a vial. You can also buy syringes cheap as well. Amazon also has syringes for a cheaper cost too. I have insurance and still but my needles and pen needles on Amazon as it’s cheaper.

      I work hard wtf. I’m a single mom who’s ex husband developed a chronic brain injury and now I have two kids….and two jobs. But I can barely afford paying rent.
      I can’t take my kids on vacation but because they do services like this one I can take them to the zoo and museums

      It probably depends on the museum. For example our local children’s museum is a limit if 4 people per card

    Make sure you call the institution you want to visit before you go. I called one of the places on the list on the website and they do not participate. My child was crushed.

    Free entry for those who might otherwise never get to visit is lovely. onlinepassion and kindness are always free. Nothing and no one are perfect – but if some child/family might be exposed to folks from all walks of life following their passion to a vocation – that opens up all kinds of possibilities for sparking interest in areas they’d never considered. A bit of grace in a increasingly angry world. Something we could all use. Whatever our beliefs.
