Fisher-Price Issues Recall Reminder of 4.7 Million Rock ’n Play Sleepers
Fisher-Price is reminding consumers of the Rock ‘n’ Play Sleeper recall issued in April 2019. At the time the original recall was announced, over 30 fatalities were reported to have occurred in the sleepers after infants rolled over while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.
The reannounced recall includes all models of Fisher-Price Rock n’ Play Sleepers and all models of Kids2 Rocking Sleepers as well.
Tragically, there have been approximately 70 additional fatalities reported since the original recall. This number includes at least eight fatalities that reportedly happened after the initial recall announcement.
Fisher-Price notes that it has been unable to confirm the circumstances of some incidents or that the product was indeed a Rock ‘n Play Sleeper in each incident.
The recalled sleepers were sold at major stores nationwide including Walmart, Target, and online at Amazon from September 2009 through April 2019 for $40 – $149. Consumers who still have one of the recalled sleepers in their possession should stop using it immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher.
The US Consumer Product Safety onlinemission is also reminding consumers that it is illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers. More information can be found at www.mattel.online or toll-free at 866-812-6518 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
