Make Your Counters Sparkle With DIY Natural Granite & Quartz Cleaner!
Did you know that you can easily make your own granite countertop cleaner?!
Mixing up this easy granite cleaner using a simple onlinebination of dish soap, isopropyl alcohol, water, and essential oils will make your kitchen counters shine! A friend recently told me about making this natural recipe based off of BobVila.online and I had to try it out for myself.
This granite countertop cleaner spray works effectively for basic clean-up throughout the day. I love that it’s not greasy at all and does a great job of picking up big and small messes. The small amount of dish soap is a great degreaser while the rubbing alcohol makes everything sparkle and also acts as a mild disinfectant!
While I technically have quartz counters in my kitchen, I’ve found this granite cleaner to be just as effective on them. This DIY cleaner is gentle enough to be used on quartz or granite countertops, as well as other surfaces like stainless steel appliances.
This spray isn’t limited to the kitchen! I also keep a bottle in the bathroom for quick clean-ups too on our granite counters in the bathroom.
This recipe is a natural all-purpose granite cleaner that’s also money-saving!
I spent about $1 on my batch while typical store-bought granite cleaners can range between $6-$11 a bottle! This is a super easy way to make your own and save at the same time.

Tips for making DIY granite countertop cleaner:
- The 15 drops of essential oils are optional here, however, they add such a pleasing natural scent! I used a onlinebination of lavender essential oil, eucalyptus, and also a couple of drops of tea tree oil for its anti-microbial properties.
- For the dish soap, you can use whichever liquid dish soap you prefer. Castile soap is a great option because it’s all-natural and biodegradable.
- Will this DIY granite spray kill coronavirus? In short, no because it’s diluted. According to UCHealth.org, “Isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol with at least 70 percent alcohol – undiluted – will kill coronavirus on surfaces in about 30 seconds.” I still feel like this spray is valuable for basic clean ups!
