DIY Christmas Decor Couldn’t Be Easier Thanks to This Dollar Tree Hack!
Who knew magazine-worthy DIY Christmas decor projects could be found at your local dollar store? Here’s how to get this upscale look.
Need a festive and frugal Christmas centerpiece?! 🎄
No one will be able to tell these little tabletop Christmas trees are actually from Dollar Tree after giving them an easy DIY makeover! Use faux snow and a few holiday floral embellishments, also found at the Dollar Tree, to turn inexpensive trees into a pretty centerpiece.
Your tree will look CHIC, not cheap!
You can turn a couple of little 18-inch Dollar Tree Christmas trees into designer-looking decor, which definitely feels more like a specialty boutique find than a dollar store DIY. To make the tree look fuller, I actually onlinebined two trees and love the results!
The pots I am using are repurposed 7-inch pots I have had for years. Consider reusing containers you may already have on hand, checking out Dollar Tree for some options, or other places like Walmart or HomeGoods for cute containers.
Dollar Tree Tip: If you find your store out of stock, you can also order online and have them shipped to your store in a quantity of 24 or more. Make a few DIY centerpieces, or gather some friends for an afternoon of crafting!
A few tips for creating this DIY Christmas decor centerpiece:
- To make this tree extra full, buy an extra tree from Dollar Tree and onlinebine them to make a thicker tree! This process is easier than you think. Place both trees up against each other and twist a couple of the branches around the middle to onlinebine them. The branches are like wire and easy to manipulate.
- Before buying more floral embellishments, check out your own supply of holiday faux berries, Christmas ornaments, and accessories at home first.
- I found a can of white faux snow for this project, but you could even use some white paint instead.
- In fact, you could make a few of these as neighbor gifts or hostess gifts. Dollar Tree sometimes has little battery LED fairy lights you could add too!

Dollar Tree Christmas Tree Centerpiece
PrintSupplies Needed
Directions
1
Take both trees out of the box and separate each branch. Place both trees up against each other and twist a couple of the branches around the middle to onlinebine them. (The branches are like wire and easy to manipulate.)
Instead of setting up the stand, I used a piece of floral foam to support it.
2
Spray faux snow all over each tree branch and let dry.
3
Cut faux berries into smaller bundles and hot glue them to tree branches. Glue any additional embellishments trying to make them evenly spaced throughout the tree.
4
Place tree in a flower pot, basket, decorative box, bowl, or any other desired container.
These Dollar Tree DIY Christmas Decorations are so cute!
I’m passionate about decorating my home for Christmas without spending a ton of money and these trees can be transformed using just a few easy supplies you may already have on hand! I’m hoping you can use this idea for inspiration and make a version for your home this season to enjoy.
If this project looks familiar it’s because I made a version of these trees years ago! Turns out they went viral on Pinterest, so I wanted to remake them again this year.
Dollar Tree pretty much has all the same supplies out right now, so I love that it’s still very much relevant and anyone can start creating theirs for the season! I love how these have more of a farmhouse look using a different style container. You can customize them with any colors and style you’d like to best fit your decor.
