FREE Same-Day Pharmacy Delivery Now Available for Walmart+ Members!
There’s a convenient new benefit available for Walmart+ members!
Walmart recently announced that Same-Day Pharmacy Delivery is now available in 49 states. This means customers can have general merchandise, grocery orders, and prescription medication delivered to their door in a single online order!
Standard Walmart pharmacy delivery is a FREE benefit for Walmart+ members (a savings of $9.95 per delivery), and there’s no minimum spend required when you have a prescription in your basket! Additional fees apply for Express (3-Hour) and 1-Hour delivery methods.
If you’re not a Walmart+ member, you can still get your prescriptions delivered, but you’ll be charged a fee per order based on your delivery preferences.
Here’s how Walmart pharmacy delivery works:
Just sign in or create a pharmacy account, then enable prescription delivery.
Once a pharmacist fills your prescription, you’ll be notified through your Walmart.online account that your order is ready to be delivered. Then, you may select a delivery method – Same-Day Scheduled, On-Demand, or Express.
Your insurance plan will be applied to the transaction just as it would when picking up a prescription in-store. You may also use your FSA or HSA account to pay for eligible purchases!
A driver will deliver your Walmart pharmacy order during your selected time window. Medications are delivered in tamper-evident packaging and you can track your order in real-time. Once delivered, you’ll receive a photo confirmation via the Walmart app and email.
Things to remember when scheduling a Walmart pharmacy delivery
- Most patients qualify for Walmart pharmacy delivery, your eligibility may vary based on prescription type, insurance limitations, and delivery area. Contact your local Walmart pharmacy if you have questions about your individual situation.
- Not all family members need to be enrolled in W+ to schedule pharmacy delivery. However, the individual looking to schedule delivery must be W+ enrolled and must have the family member already added to their account in order to have their prescriptions delivered. Go to ‘My Account’ then select ‘Manage Family Members’ to add family members to your account.
- Most prescription medications and refills are eligible for delivery, but there are a few exceptions. Controlled substances, medications that need refrigeration, and Medicare Part B items are not eligible for Walmart pharmacy delivery.
