Southwest customers will have assigned seats in 2026!

Southwest announced plans to eliminate open seating and offer assigned seats to enhance the customer experience. The onlinepany will also offer premium seating options. Assigned seats will begin to be available for purchase in the second half of 2025 for flights in early 2026.

Additional updates are also being made including faster WiFi, new in-seat power, larger overhead bins, and more onlinefortable seats.
