The caramel coconut fudge cookies from ALDI tasted exactly like the Girl Scout cookies Samoa‘s! They were so delightful, nice hints of coconut, chewy, caramel, and a dance of fudge!

Here’s what Cam had to say about these tasty cookies…

The peanut butter fudge cookies from ALDI were so delicious. They tasted JUST like the Girl Scout peanut butter Tagalong’s! They were definitely giving Reese’s butter cups, but in cookie form!

4. Trefoils

Iconic, crunchy, shortbread cookies.

WHERE TO BUY THEM:

Take it from Cam herself…

These pecan shortbread cookies were supposed to taste like their original shortbread Girl Scout cookies, but the pecan ones tasted more like sea salt pecan cookies with a hint of shortbread!

5. Caramel Chocolate Chip

Chewy, gluten-free cookies with rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt.

Here’s what one of the 6,302 reviewers on Amazon had to say…

The hint of caramel is incredibly good in these shortbread cookies. It adds tiny bits of chewy texture scattered throughout the shortbread. Delicious.

The tagalongs are very close to the gs cookie! Im a leader and cookie parent so obviously I support our scouts but these are a great deal and available all year long! When people ask me about them I say they are dangerous because they are so cheap!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for sharing your honest thoughts on the similar option, amanda! We agree that this is a great option for a fix while waiting for cookie season! 🤗🍪❤️

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing, Monique! Glad you were able to snag a few of those popular cookies to enjoy! 💖

  2. Tiffany

Also, the dollar store has the “wanna be” Tagalongs….they are my fav. And I’m telling you ..you can’t tell a difference ….just fyi are absolutely delicious after being in the fridge!😊👍

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

YUM! The tagalongs are my favorite! I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled the next time at Dollar Tree for those, Tiffany! Thanks for sharing! 💞

  3. Ms. Frizzle

The tagalongs are MY FAVORITE. BUT- is there LESS peanut butter in them this year?!?!

    • rachyb

YES!!! We all said that in our family. We LOVE the Aldi’s version but still buy around twenty boxes a year from the Girl Scouts.

  4. Sara

Now someone needs to make a generic version of the Toast-Yay! cookies and the now discontinued S’mores cookies, specifically the ABC version. The LBB version still exists. ABC was one graham cookie and crème icing coated in fudge. LBB has the marshmallow filling and chocolate between two smaller graham cookies.

I am down to three S’mores cookies from the package that I put in my freezer in 2021.

  5. loren

The coconut cookies are also sold by brand name Crav’n, I say they are better than Keebler, and better than Walmart brand. I will not eat anything from Aldi, so I cant onlinepare those. Big Lots had a dead ringer for those, but I havent seen them for a couple years , my local Big Lots died, so I dont get there much anymore.

    • momof4boys

I love Aldi. Just curious why you won’t eat anything from there

      • loren

My wife stopped there a few years ago, she bought about 10 items, at least 8 were not good. Over the years Aldi and Trader Joes have had numerous class action suits for selling mislabeled or items were not what they claim. Aldi is a no-fly zone for us. I have better choices, we have a very onlinepetitive grocery market here.

    • Bekah C

      You’re missing out on Aldi!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

My husband would probably enjoy those – he loves coconut cookies. 🍪🥥 Thanks for sharing your reonlinemendations on similar options you’ve found, loren! 🙌

    • Butterbye8

My hubby discovered the Crayvn’s (Caramel Delights) this year. He loves them claims that they are just as good as the original, (I’m sure that’s partly his wallet talking 😁) I couldn’t tell you since I’m not a fan of those particular cookies.
They also make a Peanut Butter Pattie/Tagalong version those are ok but the Aldi version is top notch chefs kiss good!!!
-This is onlineing from a long time Girl Scout and a long time sucker. (If a Girl Scout onlinees up to me and asks me to buy I’m probably going to buy a box 🤷🏼‍♀️)

  6. Mary

I have had the mint cookies from Dollar Tree and IMO there is no difference, they are produced by the same onlinepany as GSC.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

SWEET! Thanks for sharing what you thought about the Dollar Tree version of the thin mints, Mary! 💖

  7. sampsonmomeyer

I’m my opinion, the Aldi pecan Sandies aren’t good. Now the smore and peanut butter ones are delicious.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for letting us know what cookies you prefer to snag at Aldi! 🤗🍪

  8. LLE

There is also a version of the ‘lemonades’ at General Dollar. And somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.50!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing that option, LLE! I grabbed a box of those from a local troop, but my husband got to it before I could try them out this time. I’ll have to be on the hunt for these similar ones there! 🤞🍋

  9. Paula

Hyvee has a brand called Crav’n that makes a peanut butter sandwich cookie. I think they taste like the Do-si-dos or peanut butter sandwich cookies. They are addictive!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Those sound delicious! Thanks for sharing about a similar cookie option near you, Paula! 🍪🤗

  10. Micki Takac

If you want a non-dairy alternative like Thin Mints (these also look vegan to me, but they do have a shared equipment warning) Back to Nature Fudge Mint taste’s exactly like Thin Mints.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for mentioning this dairy-free option, Micki! 🙌❤️
