Check your app! Starbucks Rewards Members (free to join) may have received an offer to score a $3 Handcrafted Drink valid through October 20th! Note that this offer is only available for select accounts.

Check for this offer in your email or under the “offers” tab inside your Starbucks App. Then, redeem the offer for a pickup order or show it to your barista. Customizations will cost extra, and this offer excludes delivery orders, alcohol, ready-to-drink, and bottled beverages.

If you have this offer, you may want to take advantage, as we’ll be seeing fewer discounts 😢

As reported in the Wall Street Journal, Starbucks will offer fewer promotions as part of a plan by the new CEO in an attempt to encourage customers to pay full price, while attempting to improve sales and win back customers who have been visiting less frequently.

So, let me get this straight… Starbucks’ new master plan is to win back customers by asking them to pay full price for their drinks? Bold move, Starbucks. Nothing says “improving sales” like fewer deals! 🙄

This shift already began by only offering rewards members bonus Stars on Tuesdays and a multi-buy deal on Saturdays instead of the more sought-after BOGO deals or 50% off handcrafted drinks.

Are you a Starbucks Rewards Member?

Starbucks Rewards Members (free to join) can earn 2 stars for every $1 spent using a registered gift card or the Starbucks app. You can then redeem your points at different levels for various items including drinks, merchandise, food, and more!

If you’re lucky enough to accumulate 400 stars, use them to score a single merchandise item for free (up to $20 value) – so you could get one of their popular reusable cups for free after stars! Note, that you cannot redeem stars for merchandise at Licensed Stores.

Plus, you’ll also score a FREE Drink or Food item on your birthday. Even better, it can be ANY drink! Grab the biggest, most decked-out drink you can think of and treat yourself on your birthday! 🥳

I have definitely noticed fewer promotions. What a bummer! I used to love getting Starbucks once or twice a week with these deals, I can’t justify the price without it

  2. Amy

I do like the BOGO offers on a workday afternoon though! We used to trade off on our pairings, so it was like, “who will be my buddy today?” Great way to welonlinee a new coworker. Even when they were kind of infrequent, they were highly anticipated.

  3. Sue

Hope the games (summer game witer fame) will continue. That is when I earn the stars for free drinks.

People are already cutting back on what they purchase. Those who realize they don’t have to have the coffee, will elect not to purchase. Some people only purchase, because of a good deal.

    • Natasha-ai

That’s me! I only purchase because of a deal.

    • Mandy Hammons

      I agree

  5. Pat Goff

Crazy. How is that going to bring in new customers.

  6. Livlee

I got a 50% off one purchase yesterday to use in 3 days.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      SWEET! Enjoy!

  7. Pam

I NEVER buy without a good deal. And I even have a gift card my husband gave me that he won. Product is WAY over priced and not a good use of people’s hard earned money in my opinion.

  8. GranolaGirl

I have been buying Starbucks for years. Switched to .99 McDonald’s coffee. It’s not burned and my Starbucks Latte went up $1.00 in the last few weeks..too much

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

      Awesome that you found a budget-friendly option with McDonald’s – it’s hard to beat 99¢! ☕️
