I have extremely hard water in my house and I was going through coffee makers every year because no matter how many times I’d clean them, they’d get all gunked up and stop working. I bought a Brita pitcher and these filters and started filtering all my water for my coffee, and have now owned the same coffeemaker for 3+ years! These are good to buy in bulk. I use a large filter with a spigot and keep it in the fridge. My water is from Lake Michigan and is good right out of the tap, but I filter my drinking water to make sure there are no metals or other particles just to be safe. I tried some knock-off filters that fit and seemed to work but after a while, I noticed tiny black particles settling in the reservoir. I now only purchase the Brita name and don’t see the particle problem with Brita.
Easy to handle for filling and maintaining. Clarifies city water, haven’t needed to clean my stainless tea kettle of settlement anymore. Water tastes much better.
